Very nice antenna. I had exactly like this one for ~5 years already using it with my computer HDTV first Telemann PC card, and later DVICO Fusion USB tuner. Now I got one for my new HDTV downstairs. Works great for my location (5-10 miles from transmitter antenna). I get 17 medium to strong signals of uncompressed HD TV signal. FREE! That's more than enough for me. Comparing to any satellite and cable, and even dish - this (over the air) is the BEST HD quality you can get!
Oh, and by the way, there is NO such thing like "HDTV Antenna". Some advertise it like if it is something "special" about their product - but it is all lies. They are praying on uninformed people and messing up all concept. If you have your old indoor, or outdoor TV antenna, it will work just fine with your new HDTV LCD or Plasma!!!!!! Signal may be weaker than Analog TV, or coming from different direction, and you may need to upgrade to antenna with higher sensitivity (more those cross elements on it) But TV ANTENNA IS JUST ... AN ANTENNA! If signal is strong enough - you even can use piece of aluminum, or copper wire, it will work! So, this one is good for most city dwellers and even for suburbia people (like me). It is safe to get it. It works. And Quality of HD TV will be the best available. Did I mentioned that those HD TV channels are FREE? ... Yepp, they all FREE!

I have tried about 5 non-powered antennas and one powered one which cost about double the other ones. This antenna is by far the best non-powered antenna I've tried. It is not quite as good as the powered one, but it is close enough, and half the price. If you got the cash, buy a powered one. If you are on a budget, buy this one.

I bought this antenna hoping for better performance than the RCA ANT 1050 that I also own. Much to my surprise, this antenna was not better than the ANT 1050. The signals may be slightly stronger with this antenna, but it is also enormously sensitive to multipath distortion effects.
The main problem with this antenna is this - if someone walks across the room, digital signals from even powerful stations like the local PBS, cut out from the multipath effects. Now add an active toddler walking around the room every few seconds cutting signal in and out. Makes for very aggravating TV viewing. It did pull in a few extra stations during station scan, but those are so weak, they are un-watchable. I'm now back to the RCA - which brings in PBS and the main broadcast stations crystal clear and has the additional advantage of being almost invisible when placed on top of the TV. I can do without the additional stations till I mount a UHF on the roof. BTW - I did experiment with antenna placement. The Philips may "look" big and powerful, but its the RCA that does the job better. If you are near a window facing the broadcast tower, you may even be able to get by with a radio shack bowtie for a fourth of the price (I use that for my bedroom TV near a window)
