Workes well for me,

This review is from: Philips SDV2790/27 UHF/VHF/FM/HDTV/ Indoor TV Antenna (Electronics)
For almost two years, I have been watchibng DTV with an indoor Terk figure 8 type and then a 4-stage homebrew antenna that worked very well except on windy days and during bad wearher.
I purchased this antanna and am pleasantly surprized. I do not use the amplifier and if I turn the gain up too high, I lose all channels. It sits up high on an entertainment center and the VHF rods face forward and can be put in many positions but I have no ceiling room to have them straight up. It is very directioal and I use the signal strength meter of my DTV converter to find tha position where I get the most signal and hardly have to turn the antenna for the 20 stations I can receive. I am within 25 miles of the stations but terrain, height and so many other factors make it impossible to say if it will work as well for you as it did for me.

Antenna has good gain. I can receive weak signals. Works as It should.
Don't forget that this antenna is directional. It must be directed to broadcast source. There was no manual in the box, but you can download it from Philips site. Antennaweb dot org page can help you to predict how much channels you can expect to receive and where you need to direct antenna.

I am not going to comment on the products TV performance but judging by its FM performance, it should be pretty significant.
This is, as others have pointed out, highly directional. That obviously means that stations will sound like trash if you don't take the 5 seconds to point it right. Even with a lazy bone it does pull in a lot of stations very clear (read stereo lock with excellent S/N)
