Bought this at local store last week, and tried it on today... SUPER GOOD!! I don't know if I live in Los Angeles Area makes any difference, but I got approximately 60 channels at home, more than what I would get if I pay for the basic service with cable company. I am very satisfied with this product.

With NOTHING connected to our Samsung LN32D450, we picked up no broadcast channels at all. With a short length of coax, we got great reception on channel 7 only. When we auto-tuned after attaching this Philips Indoor Amplified Antenna, we were able to pick up over 22 channels.

According to the product literature, the antenna's range starts with channel 7. I was concerned we wouldn't pick up 4 and 5, but we do. The only major broadcast channel we DON'T get is 7! Of course, we can't get all 22 channels without adjusting the antenna, but with only a little experimenting we found a sweet spot where we could leave it and manage to pick up most of those 22 channels (or at least most of the ones we're interested in).

Most channels around here are broadcast from northern Virginia, which required pointing the antenna OPPOSITE, not toward, our windows. I have to wonder how many channels we'd add if our windows were on the other side of the room.

The antenna looks pretty much like what one would expect: neither attractive nor ugly. It's amplified, so it does require an electrical outlet nearby. The coax cable we used isn't that long, so we were able to use an outlet on the same power strip our TV is plugged into.

We were very pleased, especially considering the extremely low price of this item.

I've had good success with this antenna from Toront, Canada. I used it on the 1st floor of a house with windows facing approximately the direction of the local signal tower and the Buffalo one. There are many huge trees and other houses in the path but it still managed to pick up about 11 channels (mix of both Canadian & American).

Asthetically it is quite nice. Just a smooth black rectangle which matches most HD TVs these days.

I can only guess that the other reviewer with the rabbit ears did not know that most antennas are directional (a bit like satellite dishes that need to point in a particular direction) and need to point to the signal towers. If you are not doing so, you will not get any/many channels. I believe the rabbit ear antennas are more omni-directional, however, they are not as powerful and cannot pick up weak signals.

I've since upgraded to a roof mounted antenna which is getting me 27 channels but it also costs over 10 times the price (not including wiring inside the house to connect all TVs) so you cannot compare the two.

My only complaint would be that the included coax wire should be longer. You need to get an extension if your TV is more than about 6' away from the window. You cannot even just replace the included wire because it has a special end to connect to the antenna.

Overall, a good value especially if you can get it on sale.

Bought this from Amazon just to see if an antenna would work in my area. I was very pleased when I pulled in a ton of stations (at least 25). The antenna is mounted inside a sink cabinet in the bathroom with the antenna horizontal - and it works very well. I'm happy enough to be ordering two more.

I live in Manhattan and use it when my cable goes out. It only picks up some random small channels, but has a hard time getting the major networks. You need to move the whole antenna until you figure out which channel you can catch, with no indicator whether you are on the right track or not. Not useful as a substitute for all channels if you planned to ditch cable.

Good enough to buy a second one. Works just fine and doesn't take up much room. Looks nicer than others I have.

This is a very good Amplified indoor antenna. I like the slim and black design that fits well with most TVs.
