5.0 out of 5 stars I like these
I like the Philips headphones. This is the second set of Philips headphones I bought, and I REALLY abused my last pair, and they lasted a couple of years.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Headphones; Poor Construction!, November 24, 2009
These are the best looking and comfortable headphones for your ipod I have ever used. It matches the colors almost perfectly, I had a few pairs and even mixed and matched! The problem is you really really have to take care of them. Half the time they were at the bottom of my purse, or stuffed in my pocket, getting tossed around with everything else I own, and the little rubber around the ear bud pops off. And when the rubber pops off, then the wiring and the insides pop out too, like an accordion. I've gone through three pairs because of this issue of losing those little washers. I've even taken the precaution of keeping old washers for when they fall off the new pairs! Like I said, I've gone through 3 pairs, but I don't think I could ever find a better pair besides this brand!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best earbuds I've ever owned, November 29, 2008
This review is from: Philips SHE2634/27 Color Match In-Ear Headphone (Black) (Electronics)
Every other set of earphones I've owned eventually gets an awful crackly sound. Especially ipod earbuds. Does anyone know what that sound is? I'm happy to report that these $8 buds still sound good after several months of use. A new record for me!

Very comfortable too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bass!, August 14, 2008

These are great earbuds. I first got them out of the box, put the foam coverings on, and it sounded like i was surrounded by speakers. They have excellent sound quality and the bass is too good for words. They are also somewhat noise canceling which is a great bonus. Why would you pay more when these are just as good as the $50 ones?

When I purchased these a year ago two things drew me to them: the low price and the simplicity. I honestly was not expecting much out of them. What I got, however, is a whole different story.

The frequency range is an impressive 12-22,000 Hz (the average audible range for humans is 20-20,000 Hz, which is the typical range for cheap earphones). I listen to everything, from classical music to death metal, and these earphones produce excellent sound quality for the entire range of music. The sound was crisp, clear, and refreshing when listening to classical music; loud, full of bass, and with no distortion when listening to death metal. I liked them so much I even bought and extra pair to keep in case something happens to my current pair.

All in all, I would definitely recommend these. They may not be the Bose quality earphones that audiophiles are looking for, but they also don't come with the $250 Bose price tag.

3.0 out of 5 stars I could have been happier, October 9, 2008

I'm not an audiophile at all, so I can't say anything about the sound quality of these headphones, but what I can talk about is their design.
The major flaws that I found were:

1. The always, ALWAYS got tangled whenever I set them down. I often had no idea how. But somehow, they would be tied in knots whenever I picked them up. I think it's a problem of the material they're made of.

2. The design of the earpieces is not uncomfortable, but the hook-like quality makes it snag on all sorts of things. whatever was in my purse, clothes, the benches in the Madrid metro...

3. But, probably as a result of the first two failings, the left ear-bud stopped working one day, two months after buying them. I know I didn't buy them to last forever, but I think 2 months is too short a lifespan even for a $10 pair of headphones.

Again, I don't know about the audio quality of this product, but, from a standpoint of practicality, I would recommend Gummy headphones instead (link below) They don't have any of these problems, they come in more colors, and I even find them more comfortable. Just a suggestion!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, September 1, 2011

The earphones are easy to use, work in most computers, and look very nice. The sound is good, and I like using them. However, the earpieces are a little larger than comfortable, and there is no way to adjust the size. I have small ears, so they are uncomfortable to me, but I think many people would find them fine. These were cheap and still quite nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible headphones for the price, August 2, 2011

At $6 each, these headphones are spectacular. The sound quality is perfectly balanced and not tinny in the least. True, they aren't standout headphones in terms of quality, but after all...what would you expect for a $6 pair of headphones? That said, I have bought three pairs of these headphones, and all have lasted a very long time with extensive use. Only AFTER that extensive use, did the wiring near the headphone jack give way a little bit. But because these headphones are so great and so cheap, they are easily replaceable.

The fit is very nice, the sound is as well. Ultimately, for this price, I can't see getting a better set of headphones that emit the balanced sound these do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best headphones for the price, anywhere., August 31, 2009

These are the best sounding headphones, for the price, that I have ever heard. Monstrous bass without distortion, even at high volume levels. I listen to everything, but favor metal. It does justice to it all. The overall sound quality can make even a cheap portable CD player sound good. Excellent quality for the price. Highly recommended!
