I've been using these for years now, and have to tell you that they are the best headphones ever produced. Every few years I wear mine out, and I immediately jump online and order the exact same kind, because after trying several different brands and styles, I've come to realize that if you are truely an active person, you simply cannot find a better pair!

I've run marathons, half marathons, 10 milers, 10Ks, 5Ks, trailruns, raced Cyclocross, done speedrope work, plyometrics, lifted weights, and all the training that goes along with these sports using these headphones. NOTHING will stay in your ear better then these! Trust me.

Loop them and forget em. You can yank on them, and all you need is a simple adjustment to put them back in. No need to stop running or riding to put them back in.

And they're durable too. I workout very hard 5 to 7 days a week, and some would say that I sweat like a pig. When I'm done, I wrap them around my mp3 player and throw them in my bag pocket. I would venture to guess that I'm harder on my equipment then 95% of most people... but these keep on working for a couple of years in spite of the harsh treatment. Most of you will get double or triple the amount of years use out them then I do.

Don't think about it, just order them. In fact, that's what I'm doing here right now!

I must have had a bad pair. The one that I ordered sounded terrible. No bass what so ever. No instructions on how to put these on so I tried every which way, but still no go. I considered returning it but since it only cost $13 to buy, I wouldn't even waste my time.

I agree with the other favorable reviewer here. This is the only pair of headphones that I don't have to even think about while active (I've tried them all- Apple, Bose, Sony, I have close to a dozen). It takes getting used to putting them on but I can do it one handed while carrying a baby in the other. Bonus for those parents out there- the lasso system makes it very hard for a young child to pull them off (no I don't care for my child with headphones in but if you're going for a walk in the stroller you have to carry the baby at some point!). I too mourned the fact that I couldn't find them for sale any more (I bought my pair in ~2003)... until I found them here. Philips quality sound and durability make them well worth the price.

sound quality is good, but the trick of using the wire that you tighten around your ear still does not give the stability during exercise and does not hold the buds into the ear

I've had a pair of these earphones for a few years and I love them. First off, sound quality. Who cares. If I'm listening to the radio, it sounds like a radio and if I'm listening to my ipod it sounds like music! What more do you want, they're six bucks!!!

I work outside a lot, and I run and ride a bicycle. I used to use ear buds but they would fall out. I tried a pair with rubber clips that grip over the ear but they didn't really grip properly. These little beauties stay put and I can wear thick ear protection headphones or a headband or any kind of earmuffs over them and they don't hurt one bit. I wear them for hours on end without any pain or irritation. I can't say enough good things about them.

I was starting to get sad because I couldn't find more in the shops or even on Philips website, but good old Amazon came through. I'm ordering five more to save for the future. They're cheap, comfortable, they stay put and I can hear NPR or Coldplay just fine through them. Sorry the other reviewer was not so happy but when I find a product I like I'm sticking with it.

A pain to get these on the ear, and then a pain to wear. After about ten minutes of use, I was sore. The sound quality is not much better. When indoors, they sound great, but when outside, ambient noise overwhelms them.

Previous to these I owned a pair of Sony ear-clip headphones that are just as inexpensive, but of much better quality. I bought these because I lost the Sony pair and wanted to try something new. After less than a week, I promptly returned these and just bought a replacement pair of the Sony earphones. I was happy to have them back.
