4.0 out of 5 stars I like these, a lot.
I bought 5 of these about 2 months ago and we have them all in use. I now wished I had bought the black ones because the white ones really stand out in some areas that we use them in... and the black ones that I just ordered have a longer main cord (4ft) on them which I know will be handier, and I paid $5 more per unit to get that and the noise reduction feature in the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Warranty Scam - They Claim it has no warranty - While it's stated on the package "Limited Lifetime Warranty"
Stay away from Philips Products like a plague. The packaging and the warranty card clearly states "Limited Lifetime Warranty" on the item, but the supervisor (First Name: Vaegas) says it's only valid if it's not working when you bring it out of the box (isn't that what the 30 day store/online return policy is for), but if you use it, the warranty is no longer valid... I'm...

I bought 5 of these about 2 months ago and we have them all in use. I now wished I had bought the black ones because the white ones really stand out in some areas that we use them in... and the black ones that I just ordered have a longer main cord (4ft) on them which I know will be handier, and I paid $5 more per unit to get that and the noise reduction feature in the black ones. I need just a couple for that feature because a tv in the other room has always had interference from something (we can't figure out what) and I'm hoping this will help with that.
These are handy units. And it's nice that you can attach them to a wall too. And no more cramped surge strips with odd fitting devices plugged in that take up enough space and crowds out a neighboring plug that could be used for something else.
We really like these and I'm glad we found them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute and effective, June 25, 2009

These squid-type power strips are great because they allow you to plug in big AC adapters without losing any of the plugs. I purchased the Phillips model several months ago, and so far it has functioned properly. This white surge protector is attractive enough that you don't have to hide it.

I'm not sure what these people are on, but that is not what Limited Lifetime Warranty means. I'm just glad; I did not purchase something really expensive, like a TV to find this out.

Terrible Customer service. Shame on you Philips.

The Philips Squid Surge protector allows me to charge multiple devices in one area and gives me quick access to grab and go with them. I am enjoying this product. I own a few products by Philips and I stand by them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for All Sizes of Plugs, January 22, 2012

This review is from: Philips SPP1591WA Squid Surge Protector with 5 Flexible Outlets (Electronics)
This is a perfect power strip for any size of plug, brick, or block. No more blocking half the outlets with those oversized power bricks. Also great if you want to sneak one plug around a corner, or in a different direction. If you want a black one, the "Accell D080B-008K PowerSquid Surge Protection" is EXACTLY the same product made under the Accell brand.

4.0 out of 5 stars handy gadget, October 23, 2011

This review is from: Philips SPP1591WA Squid Surge Protector with 5 Flexible Outlets (Electronics)
I saw the squid being used by my kids who had their many electronic devices hooked up to the squid. I love that it has the extra reach by the attached tentacles, looks cool under a table and allows me do the charging of many devices at the same time. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to remove the 3 prong connections from their slots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerblocker Technology is the reason to buy these!, April 1, 2011

This review is from: Philips SPP1591WA Squid Surge Protector with 5 Flexible Outlets (Electronics)
No review mentions the Powerblocker Technology used in this multiple outlet / power strip product. At overvoltage it disconnects all the devices plugged into it, including the internal surge suppressor, which should help your stuff survive the big one, and help the quick acting internal suppressor survive long-term as well. This is a huge improvement over standard surge power strips and the main reason to buy this.

We had a protracted over-voltage event in our local area that blew out my brand new computer (power supply only, thank goodness), the garage door opener, several spiral bulbs, and my expensive cassette deck. Many of these were plugged into regular lame surge protectors. Local friends and neighbors lost stoves, exercise equipment, you name it. After that happened I went out and bought several of an earlier product that contained PowerBlocker II technology and have rested somewhat easier since. All other surge suppression products are a joke in comparison.

The earlier product is now discontinued, and I kind of miss being able to buy them, but this squid form factor is interesting too. We have one protecting our digital piano and amplifier, one on our home theater stuff, and one on our second computer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it., May 31, 2010

I mean how much can someone love a surge protector. This item is a must buy if you have a desk top PC. It's nice because you can plug up tp 5 plugs. Some pc items, like speaker cords might have a large plug on the end and makes it difficult to plug into an old square or strip surge protector. Not with this baby, no problem, takes all type of weird sized plugs.

They came very quickly and well packaged. I am in love with these, and want to get one for every outlet in my home. I can't imagine how I lived with regular power strips for so many years.
