At less than a year, I consider this a disposable product: Something I don't want associated with my expensive electronics.

This product works as advertised. The auto-switching works great except when multiple devices are turned on at the same time, then you can manually select the input. I only use 2 devices (DirectTV HD DVR and XBox 360) and it turns out that the order does matter....DirectTV doesn't stop the video signal when in standby mode so loading the XBox into position 1 gave the desired results. Compared to other similar products this is a great value for a great product.

As in other reviews I saw on various HDMI switchers that were supposed to be AUTOMATIC, you can generally expect to have to get out of your comfortable chair or couch to manually switch ports. Other than that, it does work, and was quite a bit cheaper than some of the more expensive that had the same shortfall of AUTO being more effectively MANUAL.

I got this as a gift from my father-in-law last year for X-mas as our old LCD Flat Panel only had 1 HDMI input. When we got it it was Ideal for switching between various external devices that otherwise would had to have been plugged in continually by hand.

Recently (within the last month), my Father in Law (who bought one for himself as well) was having issues with his TV not getting any picture from his Blu-Ray player. When I went to fix it, I found that If I bypassed the Switcher and plugged all of the HDMI cords directly into his TV, there was no interruption of signal.

I informed him it was either the HDMI cord connected to the Philips Switcher's Output, or the Switcher itself. I later found out that it was his switcher that was having an issue. I thought it was unfortunate that his had gone out on him after less than a year of use, and went about my business. Until Black Friday...

We bought a new Panasonic Plasma TV which has 3 HDMI ports on it, ideal because we accumulated some new HDMI based electronics and we still had our switcher, but upon setup of the new TV we found that suddenly OUR SWITCHER NO LONGER WORKED! I tried every configuration: New HDMI cords, different devices. NO SIGNAL on all of them.

So, if you decide to pick one of these up on the cheap (I see they're going for $12 new) be aware you are getting what you are paying for. At less than a year, I consider this a disposable product: Something I don't want associated with my expensive electronics.

All in all, it worked fine for almost a year before it's ticket was punched by...who knows what. But be aware of thi before spending money on it.

Unit will pass a signal to output port but will not auto-switch between a Toshiba HD-A30 or a Sony BDP-350 DVD player. Manual switching works okay but it's supposed to be automatic. Philips tech support confirms that some input devices will not work properly with unit. They don't know why and don't have a list of incompatible source products. They recommend returning for refund and buying a different brand. It might work with your components, it might not. I would avoid buying this product.

3-WAY HDmi Switcher
As mentioned in other 1 star reviews, the switcher doesn't switch properly...and when it does...there is NO SOUND.
I called customer "service"....
and was put in contact with a service rep with a BIG attitude problem.
"Well..your just not as smart as I am..." type attitude.
Between the product problems and the customer "service" attitude...
My only option is to return the product to Amazon for a full refund.

This item was purchased to connect DirecTV HD and Toshiba DVD HD to a Panasonic HDTV that has only one HDMI input. Having read the previous review regarding the DirecTV signal I used cables that I know were good and positioned the devices in every possible position and even with just one device at a time plugged into slot 1 I could never get a signal through the switch Two days after receipt it was returned and I'm waiting for a refund.

Hooked up to a Sharp 1080p LCD. Comcast Cable Box, and Sony DVD Recorder/VHS Combo worked fine. Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu-ray would NOT work on any of the inputs.

Auto switching didn't work well either, but that wouldn't of bothered me,
had all my sources been OK.

Too bad, as it's a pretty nicely designed switch. Time to try another.
