I've used the air floss for 5 months. It was given to me by my Dentist as a Christmas present. It's a well made device with an automatic shut off after a few minutes. It also has an intelligent charging system that prevents over charging. I leave it on the induction charging base after use. It has greatly improved my dental hygiene. It's easier than flossing and more effective than a water pick. I still floss occasionally, but the air floss is so effective that I don't notice any additional debris removed. I fill the reservoir with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution recommended by my dental hygienist. H202 has a foaming action that helps remove debris. H202 safely kills that bacteria that causes plaque and dental problems. H202 removes stains and whitens your teeth. The H2O2 solution sterilizes the air floss and won't clog it up like some mouthwash might. The air floss is fun to use and leaves my mouth with a clean refreshing feeling. I liked it so much that I bought this double unit for my brother and his wife. Update 12/27/13: I replaced my second air floss nozzle with a replacement one I purchased on this web site. The plastic nozzle developed a stress crack after a few months usage and broke off at the base. I pried the broken end out of the flosser using a small plastic 2 piece pocket cork screw, also available on this web site.

I bought this at my local Costco for one hundred twenty dollars after my dentist recommended that my wife and I each start using this.

I hate flossing and haven't done if for years. Instead I use the GUM go betweens, which work well, but not perfectly. I still wind up with plaque on my gum line in between dental checkups. That's why this product interested me. After using it for several weeks I was delighted to see that my gum lines were staying plaque free. Here is why I like this product.

1. First, this is NOT a substitute for flossing or in my case using the go betweens. When I used only this product and then used my go between, there was still a small amount of plaque. But if you don't floss or use a go between, then this product will still get rid of most of the plaque and food particles, which is certainly better than doing nothing.

2. This is durable and easy to use. Just open a small reservoir in the handle, fill it with water or mouthwash, close it up and you are good to go. Just press a button and water shoots out the tip. The tip is easy to line up with your teeth, and only a little practice is requires to avoid squirting water outside your mouth.

3. This is great for getting rid of plaque at the gum line. At night before I go to bed I use my go between, and then I use this product. So far I have noticed that the typical build up of plaque at my gum lines is not occurring, so I am really happy with this product.

4. From the picture I thought that the travel cases were hard cases. Nope, they are soft pouches, but they still work fine, though they don't offer the protection that a hard case does when packing.

5. Note that this comes with only one charger. You can either share it or buy a second charger (about $25 on Amazon).

I've always been a reluctant flosser and the best I could manage was a grudging 3-4 times a week. Since my wife (a dentist) bought me this I now floss morning and night and actually look forward to it.

It is messy, but if you learn to hold your mouth right it's not that bad. In any case it's better than wiping the hunks of crud that come flying out on to your vanity mirror when you floss!

The first time I used it I was a bit startled by the force with which it delivers a single blast of water and air when you pull the trigger. Once I got used to it I couldn't beleive the junk it was blowing out of the deepest recesses of my gums!

Also on my wife's recommendation I use it after brushing and put Crest Pro Health with Flouride mouthwash in it instead of water. That way I'm getting the mouthwash down in my gums and between my teeth where the bacteria hide. Plus I can save time be essentially flossing and gargling simultaneously!

It probably isn't a complete replacement for flossing, I still do a manual floss occasionally just to get some physical contact between my teeth. But I notice when I do that my teeth feel smooth and clean.

The only fault I can find is that it would be nice if the reservoir was slightly bigger so you dont have to fill it every time. But that's a minor annoyance compared to the tremendous benefit provided.

My gums have nevet been healthier, and I cant beleive I actually enjoy flossing! Buy it!!

I have been using this product for a while. Found it on sale at Costco for 99 bucks right after an appointment with the dentist. Let's just say I was motivated to step up my dental care regime! I have the Sonic Care Toothbrush, and a water pic, but I have to admit to being lazy about flossing, as it usually hurts! I bought this product to see if it added to the regime, or I would still need the reach flosser, and it appears that I do. Some of my teeth are very close together, so it doesn't seem to get in there enough. However, that being said, I do love filling it with mouthwash, and firing it into my gum line, not with the intention of removing food particles, but getting to the bacteria under the gumline, plus, afterwards, my mouth feels good and clean.
