Louisiana born Phillip Walker's ethnic background, a blend of Creole, French and Indian, would color his unique guitar technique and style. In the 50's he hit the juke joint and dance hall circuit, playing with local bluesmen and travelling musicians, including a stint with accordionist Clifton Chenier. In 1999 he recorded Lone Star Shootout with Lonnie Brooks and Long John Hunter, which reached both blues and country charts. While not a house-hold name, even among blues fans, Phillip Walker can look back on an impressive career. Tough Blues was recorded in 1990 in Groningen, Netherlands.
