This review is from: Philo: Questions and Answers on Genesis (Loeb Classical Library No. 380) (Hardcover)
My excitement for Philo partially comes from the fact I stumbled across him at the right time: A time in which I was studying the Talmud and the Midrash and a time it has been very trendy to be an aethist. While several "thinkers" have posited their somewhat undeveloped thoughts on the absence of God...Philo has masterfully outlined arguments for the existence of God, for the power of montheism in general and Judaism in particular, and for the basis of Moses being considered one of the world's great philosophers - on par with Socrates and Aristotle. If you are passionate on the subject of faith Philo is a must. As to students of Greek...well I haven't a clue...it's all Greek to me.
