Philosophy and Politics of Bruno Bauer,

There are obviously plenty of students of Hegel and Marx, and most of them know many of the influential figures during those times. Bauer, one of Hegel's premier students and a primary influence of the formation of Marx's and Nietzsche's thought, has been largely neglected. Professor Moggach's book is an oasis of analysis and commentary on Bauer in the desert of material available in English. Only Bauer's Trumpet of the Last Judgement and Christianity Exposed are available in English. The scores of other tracts and works of Bauer are referenced and thoroughly discussed in this book. This type of book is something I have wanted for many years and I thank Professor Moggach for it.I only ask for him or other scholars someday to translate Bruno Bauer's critical analyses of the gospels and Christ and the Caesars. |
