I have tried so many different face washes. I've used neutrogena, biore, proactive, clearasil, acne free, and clean and clear, but nothing compares to this facewash. I have very dry, acne prone skin and nothing I've used has worked as well as this one. It leaves my skin very soft and smooth and it really helps take the makeup off my face without any left over residue. I use it everyday before I go to sleep and then I will apply tea tree oil (100% Australian Tea Tree Oil + FREE Tea Tree Oil Soap Bars) but only on the areas of my face where I have zits. I use to tend to get acne on my hairline so I would just use a cu-tip to apply the oil to those areas and now-a-days zits are very rare for me. Tea tree oil is really great for people with sensitive skin just like the Philosophy Purity Made face wash is. I've been hooked on both for a long time and until someone can find me something better, I'm sticking with what works.

I really like "Purity Made Simple". It is a one-step cleanser for those of us who like things easy and who don't want to buy gajillions of products that we end up not using. It has a clean, fresh scent that is sort of herby, yet kind of minty, while not smelling like mint at all---it mostly just smells pleasant and fresh, if there is such a scent.

I do not wear makeup at all, but my skin is a combination type. So I have dry spots and wrinkles, and then really oily places (like my nose and forehead). I am menopausal to boot so I have wrinkle concerns and no longer scrub my face with soap. "Purity Made Simple" is the solution to all of these problems for me. I put a little bit on my hand in the bathtub, and gently wash my face with it each morning. It feels so good and is fun to use, because your face feels incredible afterwards!

It doesn't foam up at all, but it's not that kind of cleanser. You get used to no foam. Kind of like with your antiperspirant or your moisturizer---you don't want foam from them either, but you don't expect it right? If you're used to suds with a facial cleanser, I'm betting you'll get used to the simplicity and effectiveness of this product and will not miss your old cleanser one bit.

Some other reviewers said it irritated their skin, which I'm sure can happen with any product. Check the ingredients listed on this page and make sure you're not allergic to any of them, then try the product, and hopefully you'll get to use it and be as happy with it as I am.

You only use a little bit, so it lasts a long time.

My skin type is all over the map. I have sensitive skin that is combination and prone to acne, so finding a cleanser that is gentle, yet can deal with my combination skin had been a challenge. For many years, I used Cetaphil, which as very gentle. In fact it was so gentle that it did not remove much of my makeup, dirt, oil or anything. Then I discovered Purity and my skin thanks me for it.

Normally, after washing my face with other products, my skin would be very red and irritated. This is not the case when I use Purity by Philosophy. My skin has never felt so clean, yet looked so healthy right after washing it. I wear makeup and of course, I use makeup remover for my eyes when using waterproof makeup and/or a heavy application of eyeshadow. However, my makeup usually entails using BareMineral foundation, eyeliner, and shadow and this soap takes it all right off. Now that it is getting colder outside, I am noticing that my face feels tighter after washing, but I have not experienced dry patches or flakes. This might be because I get a lactic acid peel and facial every 5 weeks and I use an exfoliator every few days on my face (also by Philosophy).

So, I totally encourage people to try this product and I like it so much that I have purchased the 32oz version.
