Editorial Reviews

Review

"Well organized--would be wonderful to use for student presentations."--Patrick Rapp, Trinity Valley Community College

"I like the range of topics; it is not limited to a consideration of the rationality of religious belief."--Paul Faber, Fort Hays State University

"This is the best balanced and most useful anthology available today - and one of the best ever. The major issues are represented and are discussed by some of the best scholars in the field--both ancient and contemporary."--Fred Berthold, Dartmouth College

"A very helpful collection of readings which greatly enhance its companion text, Reason and Religious Belief. Admirable for its scope and the quality of the items included."--Richard Rice, La Sierra University

"The editors have made excellent choices of writings from various periods....The choice of contemporary material is particularly good. Moreover, this anthology is outstanding in the wide range of topics covered. It will be second to none on the market today." --William Alston, Syracuse University

"Excellent selection! the mix of ancient medieval, enlightenment, and contemporary authors makes it very useful for teaching."--Dennis D. Martin, Loyola University--Chicago

"This is a excellent and balanced selection of the very best in the field of philosophy of religion. It would be an excellent anthology for any philosophy of religion class."--Steve Lemke, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary--Fort Worth

"This is a very useful and provocative collection of readings. It combines classical and contemporary material, and it is extensive enough, and varied enough, to accommodate a variety of approaches." --George I. Mavrodes, The University of Michigan

"This is one of the best readers in the philosophy of religion that I've come across."--S.N. Fratantaro, Providence College

This book was good as a text book for a class on Philosophy of Religion. It was insightful and had lots of good knowledge to add. I would not, however, say this is a light reading book if you are not looking to learn a great deal.
