I'm not the greatest fan of Philosophy skin care products as I believe most of the raves are much ado about nothing. That said, this product is exceptional. I am 48 and have opted out of facial surgeries to correct natural aging issues, but am all for using a safe product that delivers what it promises. The shadowy circles under my eyes have become increasingly more obvious in the past 5 years and I've grown weary of using the extremely dense undereye concealer that I've depended upon. Philosophy's Dark Shadows was recommended to me and, though skeptical, I bought the rather pricey concoction. And I am pleased to say that it banished those circles and I no longer need to use concealer! What a gorgeous result and worth every cent. It is not so moisturizing but I just dab a bit of eye cream over it (I prefer Kiehl's) and greet the day looking rested. I can't speak to the use of it for the upper lip, but I imagine that if you need it there it works just as well.

I can tell a huge difference when I put this on. The light reflection is superb. I just put it on before I put on my makeup and I know longer have to put concealer under my eyes! It's my best kept secret!!

Didn't work for me.,

I have perpetual dark circles around my eyes. I have no idea why. This did not help. It just seemed to make them shiny black. Not helpful. In fairness, my situation is perhaps beyond what this product was supposed to fix. But if you have dark circles that are basically like two black eyes, then don't waste your money on this.
