This review is from: Philosophy and the World: Selected Essays (Paperback)
prominent among the essays is dr jaspers' philosophical memoir, published 1953. readers looking for mention of heidegger will be disappointed; nowhere in the essays is his name found. however, much is written about kant, including the essay, Kant's "Perpetual Peace". Max weber is mentioned at length in the memoir. of pace with the events chronicled in the memoir are essays on the task of philosophy in a free world and in a totalitarian situation, and, following dr jaspers' period as a medical student and psychopathologist, essays concerning the physician. other essays speak to religion, immortality and world creation myths as believed by various cultures.
