What can I say? Best present a Phish fan could receive. This book is far superior to any other Phish book on the market, including the Foundation's first edition. For the die-hard fan it'll prove to be the most used tool in his/her belt (a true companion), and for the just initiated it will provide eveything you need to know about Phish, and then some. I just can't say enough about the content - the fact that official Phish folk endorse the book legitmizes every word. Plus, all net proceeds are donated diectly to charity via the Mockingbird foundation! Its a win-win!
If you are looking for something for that Phish fan you know, look no further! Thanks Mockingbird for a great book!

The old Phish companion was a great book. This one however is 10 times better. The additional shows, as well as the more comprehensive song histories and sidebars really improve the overall look and value of the book. The last summer tour is however not listed, but even so, the second addition is a much better version.

For the casual newbie to the ultimate "I know all there is to know about Phish" phan, The 2nd Edition of The Phish Companion promises to enlighten you and answer any question you might have about stats, history, setlists and more. Photos, reviews and the bulk of the book were written and contributed by thousands of Phish fans. Their management and archivist corrected facts and gives their approval of this book. Most importantly, all proceeds from the sale of this book goes to The Mockingbird Foundation, a non-profit group comprised of Phish fans, which donates grants to Children's Music Education. ...make it even better! The shear amount of information in this tomb is breathtaking. But it is best taken in snippets if you were thinking of reading it like you would a novel. If you are to use it for reference, the best improvement is in the top corners of the pages where you can easily see what section you are in. Makes it VERY more user friendly when flipping around to where you need to be.

All in all, much improved! The "lost" setlists from Kevin's Official Archive are worth the price alone!

Boy. Man. God. Book. Haven't even had time to consider when I'll start trying to look into the early part of a way of digesting and reacting to this book. Meanwhile, though, it's MAMMOTH!!

Well - they're right -- the book is awesome! But those reviews refer to the first edition, released a couple years ago. This new version is more than just a redressing of that first edition; entire portions have been expanded and rewritten, and the whole thing has been laid out in an even better manner. This truly is the encyclopedia of Phish, from the first show ever through the Vegas run this April. And, of course, proceeds go to an amazing cause -- so amazing, in fact, that Phish themselves even donated their proceeds from LivePhish.com to the Mockingbird Foundation.

I read the first edition cover to cover and believe it to be the most comprehensive and "fun" look of the complete history of a once small group we know as Phish. This second edition of the "Classic" weighs about as much as the state of Vermont, so (again) nothing is missing! Since much of content is from us (the phans) and the proceeds go to the future, the book has a good karma and is worth ten-fold!....Enjoy!!!!

Every fan would be lucky to have a guide like this to their favorite band's music and history. This is a wonderful document giving incredible detail about every aspect a great band.

This book has everything you could ever want to know about the amazingness that is Phish.
