4.0 out of 5 stars Starting to really love Phiten, June 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I believe I'm becoming addicted to Phiten products. I should say right off the bat that I own a Phiten necklace, two knee supports and a bracelet (thanks Amazon coupons!) My first Phiten purchase was on a whim - Amazon had one of those "spend $xx.xx, get $x.xx off all Phiten products". I did a little (tiny) bit of research online, and I figured that I've got an messed up shoulder, what can it hurt to try? I really didn't think these things worked - I figured they were more magnetic mumbo-jumbo being sold by pitchmen. After wearing my necklace for a few hours, oddly enough the ache in my shoulder was less noticeable. Take the necklace off; and the ache came back full force.

I've attempted to follow an exercise routine lately, but having a bum shoulder and knees that aren't in great shape sort of hamper that effort. When I saw that Amazon was again running a Phiten sale and that Phiten now had knee supports, well I figured I needed to give it a try.

First off, Phiten products are not a miracle cure-all. If you've had cruciate ligament surgery or arthritis or something along those lines, you will not suddenly feel like a spry 5 year old again. However, you may feel about as good as when you take an aspirin for the pain. That being said, these supports aren't very "breathable," so while it does hug the knee pretty firmly, you probably won't want to keep them on longer than you have to.

Secondly, using the term "support" is stretching it a bit. These knee supports are about the equivalent of wearing a tight spandex knee brace. If you're hoping that these things are going to keep you upright when your knees go jelly, you're looking at the wrong item.

What these will do - and the reason I gave them four stars - is give you a gentle "helping hand" in the area of knee support, and mitigate a little bit of the discomfort, which is all Phiten really says it does.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another homerun by Phiten!!, November 22, 2009

Phiten hits it out of the park with this great inexpensive knee support. The best part is it works without being bulky or annoying. I walk 7+ miles a day and occasionally one of the old knees acts up. This support is my savior. Great price here on Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a relief!, February 9, 2011
I had been struggling with knee pain and stiffness for several months (no tears in the knee, but it seemed to always be inflamed) and had been using an Ace knee brace when I went to Tae Kwon Do classes. I would wake up many times a night in pain, and always was very stiff after TKD workouts and basically any time I got up from a sitting position (like at my cube at work).

Well, I decided to try the Phiten knee support after seeing so many athletes wearing the necklaces. I figured that it certainly could not hurt me, but I was a bit skeptical that it would help me much.

Boy, was I wrong. Almost immediately upon putting on the knee brace, my knee felt looser. I could almost feel a "warming" of the joint. It was so good, in fact, that I kept it on though the night, and I woke up WITHOUT a stiff knee for the first time in months. The very first time I wore it to TKD class, it was obvious that I was in less pain during the class, I was much more flexible in that leg, and I did not have to lay on the couch afterwards with a gallon sized ziplock of ice on my knee (prior to the phiten support, that was my normal post-TKD class ritual).

I have been wearing it pretty much 24/7, and the results are extraordinary. Most of the time, I even forget that I have a knee problem. One day, I forgot to put the support back on after my shower, and went to work without it. I did not realize it until I got up from my desk chair after an extended sitting period and the stiffness and pain in my knee almost dropped me to the floor. When I got home that evening, I put the support back on, and was able to participate in that night's TKD class w/o any pain or stiffness.

I had thought that my knee problem would likely prevent me from attaining my "become a black belt when I am 50" goal, but thanks to the Phiten Knee support, I have been able to keep up with the testing cycles, and should be getting my black belt in my 50th year of life!

I can not say whether its the "Aqua-titanium" that does it, or if it is just a good support, but frankly I don't care - all I know is that this product works for me and I would recommend it to anyone with knee pain.
