5.0 out of 5 stars Good product
I have enjoyed the product. It was easy to put together and easy to use. It doesn't take up much space so I can leave it out and use it when I have time. If I had to pull it out, I may not use it as often. Very satisfied with the product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this product!
I bought this stepper 3 months ago, and it's already broken! Yeah, it gives you a good sweat, but the thing is a piece of cheap junk. The pulley is made out of cheap plastic which can break easily! Now I have to wait 180 days for a new pulley, which I bet will break again! I wish I'd never brought this product! When I bought it, it was $82. It makes me cry to think I...

Trust me, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!

I bought this in April and it broke in October. Not worth what I paid for it. The pulley is broken.

2.0 out of 5 stars The little stepper that could...for a while at least..., March 4, 2008
This review is from: Phoenix 98107 Dual Action Mini Stepper (Sports)
This stepper has been a very worthwhile piece of equipment, knock on wood.
It has very smooth action, the foot pedals are sturdy, and it is quiet! The handles have no resistance, but they do assist in balance, and they keep your arms moving. There might be a way to add weights to them. The handles do fall to the ground if you're not careful. The stepper can be adjusted for resistance and you can vary the size of your steps easily to vary your workout. It is a good workout for the lower body and great for a room where others might be watching TV at the same time since it makes no noise. It can be moved from one room to another fairly easily. It has an extremely sturdy base and it will not move around on the floor.

Update: November 30, 2011

I am still loving this equipment. The handles have not been falling to the ground as in my initial review. YOu can choose to drop them to the ground if you have the space and don't want to use them.
You can also do some good stretches for skiing and other sports with this equipment.
I don't use this stepper all that much, but it is still in perfect working condition and I am on the higher end of the weight limit (up to 250 pounds). It is just as quiet as ever and I am now able to use it for a longer period of time. If you use it for more than a few minutes, you will notice that you start to feel the resistance more. It is also a great way to start the day since it starts the blood flowing to your extremities. Although your arms won't have weight-bearing exercise with this equipment, your arms are in constant motion, so that's a good thing at least. You can also choose to drop the handles and move your arms around freely to get some additional arm exercise.
Of all the equipment that I have purchased through the years, this has been the one that I have kept on hand and it hasn't gathered dust or been relegated to the garage. It's a keeper! I should note that I don't really care about the electronic settings. Works for me as a supplemental exercise - hope it works for you!

December 6, 2011 Maybe I have had more stamina to use my stepper recently, but I was really enjoying it, when I heard a cracking sound. The pulley cable broke, sad to say. I will have to decide if I want to replace this or look for a replacement cable. It was good while it lasted - and really quiet.
December 7,2011 Okay, so now I am trying to decide what to do. I am not sure where to find a replacement cable for this stepper. I have searched far and wide online, so if you know where I can get the cable, please let me know. I am already missing this stepper. The rest of the stepper is in mint condition. The base is as sturdy as if it were new, the handles are fine, everything is mint. It's so frustrating to have an unusable piece of equipment because one part is broken.
Who knew that you could get so attached to a piece of exercise equipment? Maybe it's because this stepper is the perfect supplement to heading to the gym. It "gets the kinks out" of your legs if you have a desk job. It also seems to alleviate the knee pain and stiffness that I still experience over a year after I fell. I had resolved to get on this stepper hourly to keep my circulation going. Oh, well. Back to the drawing board....
To get the cable replaced, you can call Phoenix directly at 1-888-535-8637. You can order a replacement cable for around $25 including shipping. It really drives me nuts that the rest of my stepper is in mint condition! I bought an old used stepper, but it doesn't fold down like this one and it squeaks. Please improve this product. It has a lot going for it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth the Investment, November 25, 2007

If you're looking for a good work out and don't have a lot of space to keep exercise equipment, this is the machine for you. My whole family uses it on a regular basis (5 of us) and we've had it for a year. I'm buying one for my sister for Christmas this year she loves mine so much. I paid $69 last year and now it's $82, but I think it's still worth the price.

I bought this stepper in December 2008 and I use it regularly, every day, for 1/2 hour. Regular use is a very good work out of the lower and upper body. It is small so does not use much space. To me, it is very good value for money.

I don't like this stepper because I tried to adjust the handle bars but I can't get it to tighten up so that the handle bars are not very good support at all they wobble when I try to use it that sometimes I fall off or have to step off because the handle bars wobble.
