5.0 out of 5 stars Very Happy - Assembly Suggestions
I read all the reviews for many products before I bought this one as I find them very helpful. This is a great piece of equipment for me. I can see though if you are a large person that it may be to tight for you. I am 5-10 - 155 and have plenty of room to use it. As far as assembly, i did have to use a rubber hammer to get one of the top handles in as one other...

This gym is decent once it is put together. Since it is yet another product made in China, it is not really Quality Controlled. This gym is decent once it is put together. Since it is yet another product made in China, it is not really Quality Controlled. I had to use a large hammer to fit one of the top pull-up bars into place. Some of the bolts have damaged threads. The pads used to hold you in place while doing the leg and ab workouts get really slippery when wet, so you have to use towels over them. If your chest is wide like mine, then you will most likely feel cramped in the device.

Overall though it is not a bad gym. For the price (Under $150), and if you get free shipping, it is well worth the money. Just expect to use your own tools and a hammer when putting it together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Happy - Assembly Suggestions, June 27, 2008
This review is from: Phoenix 99403 Power Stand II (Sports)
I read all the reviews for many products before I bought this one as I find them very helpful. This is a great piece of equipment for me. I can see though if you are a large person that it may be to tight for you. I am 5-10 - 155 and have plenty of room to use it. As far as assembly, i did have to use a rubber hammer to get one of the top handles in as one other writter indicated they had to as well. Two suggestions not in these reviews, the grips for the bars came already on the dip handles but not on the chin bar. I made the mistake of putting the grips on the chin bar before I put the chin bar on the tower assembly, huge mistake they must go on after the chin bar is on the tower assembly as it will not fit through the holes with the grips on. Second, I received two screws that were to short by jsut a little, I recognized this as I counted the parts before assembly and had two odd screws and was two short of one type. I could have easily gone to Home Depot and purchased two for pennies but was able to find a place in assembly to use them by excluding the washers I was able to make them fit. Overall I am very pleased with my piece of equipment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent quality for the price., May 17, 2008
This review is from: Phoenix 99403 Power Stand II (Sports)
The assembled stand is actually a fairly decent product for the price. You're getting something that is sturdy and compact enough that it doesn't take up too much space. You can put it in a corner, or against a wall and not worry about it taking up an entire room.

The problem is with the assembly. The instructions that come with it are next to useless, and the way the hardware is just tossed in to a bag together with no labeling can create a problem if you're not used to putting things like this together.

Overall, I would recommend this to someone that is looking for a decent and cheap stand, if you don't mind the headache of actually putting it together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased, June 22, 2008

I received the Power Stand in less than a week! The quality was better than I expected. It fits well in my exercise room and I am glad I added this piece. Assembly (for someone like me with too many thumbs) went well. Lay out the parts and you should have no problem following the instructions with a ratchet and a wrench. I made two mistakes with bolt size use, but they were easily corrected, and I put the pull up bars in wrong, but corrected that (with the use of a rubber mallet to get them off). Bottom line: this tower is very usefull, well made, compact in size, fairly easy to assemble, and a good value ($123 delivered).Phoenix 99403 Power Stand II

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value, February 9, 2008
This review is from: Phoenix 99403 Power Stand II (Sports)
I assembled it last night. Overall it appears to be a good value compared to the other powerstands. I like the fact that it is tall enough for me, fits against a wall or in a corner, and is affordable. The only problem was that it was tougher than expected to put together. I am glad I bought it.

4.0 out of 5 stars good exercise machine, September 5, 2008
This review is from: Phoenix 99403 Power Stand II (Sports)
For those who want to build a home gym, this machine has all what you need and for the prize is a most have. I shop around and compared with similar machines. The different types of exercise that you can do and the space that uses in my basement worked perfectly for me. I dont rate 5 stars because there are other machines that offer more than this one but again the prize is right plus I got free shiping! Amazon took care of me.

This product works as intended. I thought that the assembly was easy enough with all required nuts and bolts. It is made from lightweight tubing which appears to be very strong. Because it is lightweight it moves a little during use but still remains stable. Considering the cost and construction,
I think this equipment is a good choice for any home gym.

Well, I am very happy with this product. Only problem was the first order...a part was missing from the box....but Amazon quickly resent the item and I was able to get the part from that box and Amazon had UPS come back and get the box with the missing part.
Excellent customer service from Amazon!!! Thoroughly happy with the product and customer service I received!
Thank you Amazon!!!

I'm very happy with the Power Stand, but more importantly I'm even happier with the customer service. My shipping box arrived torn and repackaged probably by the shipper due to the heavy weight of the item. Unfortunately, one of the main support bars was missing. I phoned Phoenix directly, as the paperwork requests, and they took my information and promptly shipped a replacement part. Excellent!

3.0 out of 5 stars half way decent product, October 6, 2008
This review is from: Phoenix 99403 Power Stand II (Sports)
The station went together fairly easily, but I am pretty mechanically minded. while the pull up part of the station works well, the stand itself is a bit shakey for dips. the whole thing like vibrates and shakes while performing this exercise. otherwise, it is a good deal for the money.
