First glance you say this is expensive cable; then you take a look at the average price for properly shielded cable and this is right in range. Anyone who has designed their own car stereo system with a power amp knows of the absolutely intolerable interference noise that runs along patch cable. The choice of shielded cables to block this interference are really either open twisted pair or this style. This style is twisted and shielded an adds the extra covering which insulates further and reduces sound loss to a minimum. It's most important to find a cable that's both twisted and shielded (the technical details on Amazon will reveal this). Most run about 17-24$ but if you want the best sound you can't beat this one and it's really one this top brand Phoenix Gold's most affordable.
