Good stuff!,

This review is from: The Phoenix Park: A History and Guidebook (Paperback)
This is a really enjoyable delving into all things: Phoenix Park, Dublin. As the author was born and grew up by this amenity his love of the place shines through 240 pages. He treats various topics very lightly but succinctly (famous people associated with this the largest city park in Europe, the appearance of the park in literature, etc.) The history sections are not heavy (thankfully), and he provides us with a few walking tours that he has devised. The occasional photograph, sketch and historical plate make this paperback worthwhile. I personally could have done with colour photos and more maps but that's just me being fussy. A really super document of a Dublin landmark.
