This review is from: The Phoenix Prescription: A Medical Thriller (Paperback)
As a surgeon, books and TV shows about medical fiction draw a certain sense of skepticism. Having trained under Dr. Page during my five years of residency, I hoped that his novel would be different...and it sure was. Not only is it very entertaining and engaging, his unique insight and experience in the realm of medical education gives this story a sense of realism that makes the book hard to put down. The interactions between the doctors, nurses, patients, and family members are not only believable, but caused me at times to recollect some of my own experiences as a resident. The backdrop setting of a struggling young surgeon gives a rare glimpse into the world of a physician in training.
