5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant soundtrack
Watching "Phone Booth", I thought the musical score really set the perfect mood for the action and complemented the scenes nicely. I agree, though--I hope they get in the theme from the beginning (including the "Operator" song) and the music at the end credits, as well as the "Six Days" song!

3.0 out of 5 stars trailer song
Does anyone know what the song that was used in the trailer for Phone Booth is? its not the Six Days song. its kind of a techno riff, with raspy male vocals. write a review please if you know.

2.0 out of 5 stars Down for the Count, November 6, 2003

HGW was orchestrator and arranger for such as Stanley Myers and Hans Zimmer, while learning the secrets of the trade. He worked with Zimmer in"Broken Arrow","As Good As It Gets"and "Smilla's..."before scoring full name. After"The Replacement Killers", he teamed up with Trevor Rabin for "Enemy of the State"and with John Powell for"Ant Z"and"Chicken Run"."Spy Game"showed, beyond a doubt,he had his own voice, and what a voice.
Which brings us to"Phone Booth".And what is this?It has nothing to do with his previous work,Zimmer's style or anything I've ever heard.This new score is...original,to say the least.I'ts made of strange moods provided by electronic percussions and little more.The problem is:does it always pay off to be different?We gotta be honest:even though the music serves the movie well and it has that unique feel,when you put the CD running and close your eyes, it doesn't sound like much.Tracks never seem to pick up and they are interrupted before they establish the tone.
It sounds good, but it's like half a score.HGW can do a lot better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Missing Music On Phone Booth Sountrack, April 22, 2003
This review is from: Phone Booth [Original Motion Picture Score] (Audio CD)
Great Movie.. Yes.. But...wheres the cool drum & bass beat in the beginging of the movie and the closing song "Six Days" during the end credits? Both of these songs I was hoping to get and arn't on this soundtrack. I don't want boring scores. IF YOUR GOING TO MAKE A SOUNTRACK PUT ALL THE MUSIC FROM THE MOVIE ON IT!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars "Operator" and "Six Days" credits, October 31, 2004
This review is from: Phone Booth [Original Motion Picture Score] (Audio CD)
End credits on european DVD mention following informations :
> "Operator", written by William Spivery, produced by Nathan Larson;
this song has been originally performed by The Manhattan Transfer and released in 1975 by Atlantic Records.
> "Six Days (remix feat. Mos Def)", written by Josh Davis and Brian Farrell, performed by DJ Shadow [...] (contains a sample of "Six Day War" performed by Colonel Bagshot, with vocals feat. Kenneth Parry [...]);
this remix has been released on "The Private Repress", a Japan-only remix LP (visit djshadow.com for tracklisting). It's a mix of two tracks from DJ Shadow's last album : "Walkie Talkie" (for the intro) and "Six Days" (for the vocals sample).

As the movie begins there is this great remake of the Manhattan Tranfer tune " Operator". Can any one tell me who is singing it and where I can get a copy of the song. It apparently did not make it to the Soundtrack CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Score, September 7, 2003
By
This review is from: Phone Booth [Original Motion Picture Score] (Audio CD)
The score music by Harry Gregson-Williams is very nice! But I really hoped the CD would feature that cool drum & bass tune heard in the beginning of the movie (right after the Operator) and in the beginning of the end credits just before the "Six Days" song.

Could anyone tell me the namf of the artist and the title of that drum & bass composition?

2.0 out of 5 stars Good score...but where's the rest?, August 2, 2003

Where's all the other music that was in the movie? Kinda disappointing...
I DO know the name of the song in the trailer though! It's "The Shame of Life" by Butthole Surfers. I recommend that you get the whole album on which this song is on: Weird Revolution.
I wish that song had been on this album, though...
