4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected
I've only had this for a few days now, but I'm really pleased with it. I opted for the Bluetooth module for a few reasons:

- I upgrade my phone every year or so, and I wanted to avoid having to buy new cables each time.
- My wife also has a phone I wanted to use with the Dock N Talk, so again, I wanted to avoid needing a new cable.
- I don't have...

I'd hate to get the $25 firmware upgrade...they'd probably come out with another upgrade shortly after & want even more money.

- I don't have a phone jack next to where I wanted to place my phone when I get home at night.

This module fit the bill for all these points, and with little hassle. The bluetooth setup was a breeze, and I love that it connects with my phone automatically whenever I get in range. It really makes it brainless to connect to the Dock N Talk each day.

Another cool feature that I haven't even seen documented is that if you have two phones set up, and take the first out of range, it will automatically switch to the second phone. Very handy if I want to run an errand and need to call home -- my wife doesn't have to be near her phone.

One thing I wish they would have added would be the ability to set up a "priority" system fo multiple phone. Currently, it just connects to the phone of whoever arrives home first. Not a big deal, but you just have to pay a bit of attention to which phone its connected to.

5.0 out of 5 stars lets you scrap your land line and still use your old house phones, February 25, 2011

This review is from: PhoneLabs Bluetooth Module (Electronics)
We used this device to free us from an overpriced land line ($50 per month for rock bottom basic phone service).

We linked a bluetooth-equipped mobile phone to our PhoneLabs Dock-N-Talk base unit using this PhoneLabs bluetooth plug-in module. The base unit powers seven conventional phones around the house and in the garage. All these conventional phones behave exactly as if they were connected to a land line, except we don't have to pay long distance fees anymore on most calls and the fee on our two cell phones totals $20 less per month less than our single land line did.

I originally bought this device both to utilize our existing wired phones and because of poor mobile phone reception in our home. There was only one place in the house we could get a good wireless signal. Using this system, we could put the phone in that one place and leave it there. The reception is now good everywhere in the house, but the system works so well we're still using it.

For one thing, this system allows two or more people to listen simultaneously and all talk on one mobile phone signal, a handy feature sometimes. For another thing, if you leave the connected mobile phone in one place at home, you are a lot less likely to lose track of where it is. For another thing, you are exposing your brain to less radiation with this system.

When I leave the house, I take the mobile phone with me. The system automatically breaks the bluetooth connection and automatically re-establishes this connection when I return home.

It performs flawlessly most of the time.

Once in a while the phone won't automatically make the bluetooth connection. In these rare cases, I can reboot the system by unplugging the base unit and powering it up again or turning the phone off and then back on, or manually reset the connection using the phone's bluetooth connection submenu. Sometimes I have to unplug the phone lines from the PhoneLabs base module and then plug them back in again to clear error indicators. Once, the bluetooth module came loose from the base unit, and I had to plug it back in again. It doesn't take much force to unplug the module.

I have used this system for years and it works very well with a few rare problems that are easy to correct. It works as advertised.

4.0 out of 5 stars auto-connect, April 28, 2008
By
When I bring my phone within a few meters of the Dock-N-Talk Bluetooth module, it automatically connects. While connected I can make and answer cells calls on my home phone. The only problem is not with the module. My phone which normally runs for a full week on a charge with only last 36 hours when connected to the dock-n-talk.

I'm well satisfied. Good audio quality. The minute I walk into the house it syncs to my iPhone. Then I am able to move about the house without worrying about missing a call.
