A refugee from wartime Europe, Victor Borge quickly established himself as a radio favourite through exposure on the Bing Crosby shows. He had actually arrived in America barely speaking English, but he not only quickly learnt the language, he also used its idiosyncrasies to create classic comedy sketches like Phonetic Punctuation and Inflationary Language , included here. In reality a highly-skilled concert pianist, the piano became a musical tool in pursuit of laughter, as this wonderful in-concert performance proves, over 76 minutes of musical and comic mayhem. Behind those stark facts lies the story of an exceptional man who entertained the world for most of a happily long life, indeed right up to his death. Borge was the youngest of five sons born to musicians Bernhard and Frederikke Rosenbaum. His father was First Violin with Copenhagen's Royal Theatre Symphony Orchestra but Borge choose his mother's instrument, the piano, tinkling the keys from the age of three. He was recognised as a child prodigy and consequently, at the age of nine, was awarded a full scholarship to the Royal Danish Music Conservatory. At 13, he had his professional debut.

We love Victor Borge and this was as funny as ever, just wish it was a DVD and not a CD because a few things are lost without the visual effect.

I did not receive this item, and only after I contacted the seller myself and asked about it did my account get credited. I felt the seller should have let me know right away that they were out of the item, and certainly they should not even have charged my account.
