The book Phonographs With Flair came out a few years ago, and it's one of the better books on the subject. The photos are excellent and it covers many different models from 1890s thru the 1970s. Included are many photos of very oddball models, many of which are probably near extinction today.
If you have any interest at all in music, record collecting or icons of the 20th century, this book is an excellent choice.

I got this book for a friend of mine for his birthday. He is a real "tinker-er". It arrived within a week and was very nicely wrapped. Even though it is a "used" book, it was in very good condition, actually better condition than I had expected. My friend was ABSOLUTELY thrilled and said, "This is EXACTLY what I was looking for". The next thing I knew he was showing me sketches he, himself, had made from the drawings in the book. He is part tinker-er and part artist. Thanks, Amazon and vendor.
