1- The Black/White contrast is not as strong as the images show.
2- It looks better with black on white. In white on black the black looks more like grey and that doesn't look too great.
3- It once stopped working (black screen) and I had to remove the battery and put it back in. That brought it back to life.\
4- In the display where you get all info I don't understand why the Date Font is so large and the clock font is so small.
5- The date format is american style i.e. you see the month on top and below it the day. I imagine they could easily have made it switchable.
6- Build is OK, Plastic strap is fine.
7- Generally OK watch but could be better. If you have a Chance to see it somewhere before you buy do that.

I have a kindle and have found it to be excellent, all that they advertise.
However, the e-ink technology in a watch face leaves something to be desired.
I was very disappointed in the phosphor watch.
    1. It is too large, somewhat cumbersome.
    2. It is VERY difficult to set. Either the instructions are too vague or the sequence doesn't work well, I think both.
    3. There is an annoying flicker and delay when changing function 'pages'.
    4. The watch suddenly stopped and went blank. Nothing would bring it back except to 'reboot' it by taking the back cover off, removing then reinserting the battery. VERY annoying.
    5. The leather wrist band is all too noticeably 'cheap' Something you expect on a $9.00 WalMart throw away.
    6. I expected to have the second hand display, however, you have to order a different model to get that! I REALLY did not like that.
Back to the drawing boards guys, this watch is not ready for for a sophisticated market.
Overall, extremely disappointing. I do not recommend it. Mine has been relegated to the dresser drawer!

I bought this watch when they first came out. I love the look and functionality of it. Easy to read, looks great and has been very reliable... However, the strap broke (next to the buckle) and I contacted Phosphor to buy a new strap only to be told you can't buy replacement straps for this watch. I am really annoyed that a watch costing over £100 is now unusable!

Bought this watch about a year ago. I like the novelty of the e-ink alright. On the other hand, the quality of the watch is really disappointing. Firstly, the function button on my watch was reversed from the enclosed instructions i.e. left vs right button (lost in translation from English to Chinese?). I will not be surprised when the button falls off. Secondly, the leather band is awful. After a couple of weeks, I developed a contact dermatitis. When the band got wet, the dye begins to leach out and contact with my skin gave me the rash that lasted a few weeks after I took off the watch. In other words, although the watch is water-resistant, the leather(?) band is most certainly not. Reminds me of a watch I would have bought as a kid at Woolworth (remember those?). In today's term it probably would be a $30-$50 watch in terms of quality. Get it if you want the e-ink novelty but know that you are buying $50 worth of quality for $150...

I'd always wanted an e-ink watch but kept waiting for one I was excited about. Finally this watch came along and I bought it.

While I generally enjoy it and it looks good on my wrist I can't help but be annoyed by its arbitrary limitations. Why can't I adjust between 24 and 12 hour on the displays? It's fixed per function display and isn't user adjustable. Want to see the time and the date? Hope you like 24hr time. In general the watch reminds me more of how a LCD watch would with with the segmented display. You know where everything is the way it is because the watch display is ultimately fixed. But this is e-ink, you should be able to customize it a lot more. The watch is also a pain in the ass to set since it only has two buttons.

I could deal with this and still enjoy the watch, but from the day I got my watch there's been a portion of the display where the colors were stuck reversed - worked fine in certain displays but others it was noticeable and looked like dead pixels on an LCD screen. I contacted Phosphor several times about the issue but never got a response from them about sending it in for a warranty so I simply returned the watch. Not a good way to make me feel comfortable about spending $200 on a watch.

Between the arbitrary limitations in display and being ignored with support I have to say this is just a letdown. Avoid this company and this watch.

    Pros:
    +Looks good
    +Technology factor

    Cons:
--Despite e-ink the display isn't very customizable
    --Terrible customer service

The black on white display is sharper than I expected - quite acceptable and readable. The curved case is very comfortable. Compare this watch with the Quadtec [different technology but similar display - a cult watch if there ever was one]. The Quadtec has a push-button light, which the Phosphor doesn't have. However, the Phosphor is sleek and, with its curved case, fits the wrist very well, while the Quadtec is a big bulky thing that squats on the wrist like a block of wood. The Quadtec has a seconds-display, whereas the Phosphor updates only once a minute, presumably to save battery life. There are several display formats to choose from, easily switchable using the "A" button, of which I (and most users, I suspect) prefer the Day of the week / Month-number / Time / Day of the month combination. This format displays military (24-hr) time only. That's right, time-format is not independently user-selectable; it varies with the display format and can't be independently changed. If that just bugs you, then buy something else.

The overall appearance is both retro and futuristic at the same time; something that might be suitable for both the original Star Trek and its more recent incarnations. I would give this watch an "A" for style and an "A-" for the information it displays. And not a bad price!
