Great magazine if you can actually get them to deliver it,
By
This review is from: Photo - France (Magazine)
This is my favorite magazine in the universe and the only one to which I have ever subscribed. However, after this, my second subscription is over, I plan to call it quits. The magazine never gets delivered unless I send several angry e-mails every month reminding them and demanding delivery. When the issues come they are often 2-3 months behind. The current issue is over three weeks late and who knows when and if I will ever see it. In the end, although this is a brilliant publication, it simply isn't worth the headache. Photo, if you're out there, please forward me the June issue.... and while you're at it get a head start on July and August and maybe they'll make it on time.

Great Magazine - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE,
By
This review is from: Photo - France (Magazine)
Yes - there are tons of great shots in the mag; great articles ( in French only ) , contests---very chic....HOWEVER---- customer service will treat you like the redheaded stepchild when you ask them " WHY HAVE YOU NOT SENT ME THE LATEST ISSUE OF PHOTO?? "....and you know it WILL HAPPEN. They only send you sporadic issues when THEY feel like it ( or so it would seem )... Most issues are available on the stand WEEKS before you get yours delivered via mail ( should it be the other way around??? ) And they wont give you a courtesy letter/postcard telling you when your subscription is up...that's for you to figure out. SO if you can deal with the lame french hold music when you call Photo's Cutomers Service CONSTANTLY, this is a great magazine..... cough...cough...vive la France!!

Excellent magazine, best purchased at the newsstand.,

Tough to decide how many stars to give Photo France; the magazine itself is exceptional: think of "American Photo" but more freewheeling in every way. Clearly 5/5. But my review here reflects the experience of purchasing a subscription from Amazon.I should have read the previous reviews before subscribing; I have yet to receive a single issue of this beautiful magazine, even though the vendor claims to have mailed out at least two issues. It's hard to know who to blame: the publisher, Amazon, the distributor, or the postman. If you're lucky enough to live near a good newsstand, save yourself the headache and just buy it in person. Spend your time enjoying the great photography instead of tracking down undelivered issues.

The best photography magazine in the world!,

Thank God for the French! This magazine is the best photography magazine in the world. It contains some of the best photography that I have ever seen. Photographs that you will most likely not see in any American photography magazine. This magazine, unlike every American photography magazine that I know of, has absolutely no fear of nudity. Do you speak French? This magazine is written in French. Please do not let this bother you. Photography is the universal language.

Best by far...,

This magazine explores the art of photography in true style and without false boundries. Even though the text is in French, they often reference an article's subject with a web link that you can explore or, of course, you can google the artist name and learn more about a particular work in English. Buy it at the newstand if you don't want the hastle of dealing with a subscription. The price is very reasonable considering it's an import.

OOH-LA-LA!,

When an American photo magazine tests a new camera or lens, they all too often photograph some inane collection of poseable figurines on their desktop, or a boring vista of the office buildings out the editor's window. Photo-France often photographs nudes with their reviews. Strike a blow against the idiocy of 'Freedom Fries' and remember that France helped us win our Revolutionary War each time you buy an issue (at the newsstand).

I have been subscribing to the magazine for several years through EXPRESS MAG. Before I used to buy it at a Borders store. Definitely it's the best photo magazine I have ever found.

American photography could only WISH they knew what real photography is.(hint: american publications only knew 2 things-- 1) what's popular, and 2) how to censor everything that said, PHOTO displays exactly that--beautiful photos. leave the american's to their own crap.

I have not yet started to receive this subscription but, I have been buying single copies off the newsstand for several years.Although I do not speak French, this is an image publication with items primarily from Europe. French PHOTO gives a bit of visual perspective to those of us stuck on this side of the pond. |
