This little book is chock full of neat ideas. I'm always on the lookout for more things to take pictures of and this book gets me going. I appreciate the fact that the pictures aren't all technically "perfect" which gives me inspiration because I realize that I don't need expensive equipment and lighting to produce interesting photographs of everyday things.

I have every book written by this guy. One of his books, Design Ideas Index, was required reading for a graphic design course and I read it cover to cover in the first week because not only is the content good but it is displayed in an amazingly lighthearted and no-nonsence kind of way. These books (things, people, and places) in addition to the Photo Idea Index are more of the same great writing that made me so happy last term! Great job and a must for just starting out and for the experienced to switch it up!

First, the book is terrific. Packed with plenty of creative ideas on taking pictures of all kinds of sometimes hardly noticed objects all around us. It really has me thinking and wanting to try some new things, new approaches. Full page examples are followed by smaller versions of the photos with explanations of the why & how. So I highly recommend this book. Now, to the other, my 3 rating. Amazon sent me a book probably never read, but the cover has dents and scratches and does not look new at all. Perhaps it had been returned, or was handled a lot. Amazon disappointed me here in this issue. I will keep the book, the price was good, and I can live with it.

Nice set-up of content--it provides a simple way to view the suggested ideas without too much text to get in the way of the visual.
