The seller was very prompt and I read the book in about two days. The main character and her teen age daughter are hilarious.

More Than a Cozy,
By Mystery Fan (Elmhurst, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Photo, Snap, Shot (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery) (Paperback)
As another reviewer mentioned, this series is a cozy, but a cozy plus. Its plot is more intricate, its characters are more well developed, and its subject matter is "harder." Yet, its protagonist, Kiki Lowenstein, has a sense of humor that lightens the story. A great read. Couldn't put it down, and can't wait until the next in the series.

As another reviewer noticed, Slan's subject matter and characters have evolved with each book. So, too, have the complexity of the plots. I always find the books an enjoyable read, and a delightful "awakening" to the metro area - I only moved here 2 years ago, but grew up in a "Ladue" of sorts, with its own "Chesterfield" and "Roma" and so forth on the outskirts. The culture is recognizable. :-) As always, I finish one book only to long for the months to pass before the next one comes out. Congratulations, Joanna - keep 'em coming. (Fast!:-D)

This was a very good read that once I started turning the pages, I couldn't stop. This was the best book yet in this series and I look forward to reading the next one.

A Cut Above,
By KindlePhan (Maryland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Photo, Snap, Shot (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery) (Paperback)
This book may be classified as a cozy mystery, but it really is a cut above the standard of that genre. Slan has her characters tackle some very complex problems in this new addition to the series.
While all the 3 books are great reads, it is with Photo, Snap, Shot that we really see growth, both in terms of subject matter and writing. The characters are becoming more rounded and the "community" of the book is getting fleshed out. Both characters from the previous books as well as new character introduced here are realistic and worth investing in. I suspect that the series will only continue to grow as further books come out, so why not jump on board now, while there are only 3 books to catch up on. These are quick reads and while scrapbookers will find useful tips in each book, non-crafters will all appreciate the story of a single Mom struggling to raise her daughter.

Another winner from Joanna Campbell Slan and Kiki Lowenstein. Good blend of fun and humour and social conflict. Proves that a cozy doesn`t mean fluffy.

Entertaining and thought-provoking...,

Joanna Slan follows through on everything you'd expect from a Kiki Lowenstein mystery--laugh-out-loud humor, an intriguing mystery, romance and conflict for Kiki...all this and scrapbooking tips, too. What is more, she delivers a thought-provoking storyline that explores important issues of social class and race, while making us root for Kiki as she struggles with issues so many single moms face. This is a pageturner, and it's highly recommended.

A twist on scrapping!,

Slan takes "embellishment" to a whole new level! I am a hardcore crafter and instantly became interested in the Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mysteries. Each book is themed around a scrapbooking storyline. Photo Snap Shot is funny, witty and will keep you turning those pages. Slan writes tight, making every word count to lead up to a memorable story. I would highly suggest any of her books for scrapbook clubs, they will make for lively conversation! I love that there are actually scrapbooking tips from Kiki throughout the book!
