Accurate, but outdated,

This book must have been an excellent guide when it was first published. But we all know what three years can do to this technology - the book is simply outdated. When I ordered it, I forgot to look at the "published" date. The book emphasizes specific equipment and software, some of which has long lost it's leadership in this market. It needs to be updated.

The view from December 2000 is that this 1996 edition is now seriously outdated. This book was a handy reference when it came out in '96 but much has changed since then. It's somewhat of an embarrassment for Peachpit to continue marketing this edition. |
