I was disappointed at the book. The author spent 40 years of photographing glacier area yet the information is very minimal. Most pictures shown in the book are not so great either. The one third of the book is talking about photography techniques, such as equipments and lighting. All in all, I spent less an hour finished reading the book and I did not bother to bring it with me during the trip. It did not describe much about seasonal changes or conditions. It did not even mention the going-to-the-sun road is fully open only for a couple of months during the summer. Most information is pretty brief and general, no more than what you can find from the internet. I rarely return books cause I like to keep books for future reference. But this one is an exception.

When you go to any National Park and want to maximize your stay you need to do research. Unfortunately, there is scant information generally available about where to find great vistas and special locations in any National Park to visit and photograph. For Glacier National Park, this book gives you all the information you need to find special locations in the Park for visiting and especially photographing this spectacular park.

Well thought out photography guide for America's most beautiful national park. I only wish that the author had gone into more depth about the best time of day to photograph each location. Excellent maps detailing each location. Good coverage of all parts of the park. This has been the most helpful of numerous guide books on Glacier!

This book has some very helpful maps with the locations of the types of places photographs find interesting. I thought the price was very reasonable.
