A definite must have for those anticipating photographing Jewish weddings. You can truly appreciate the amount of information covered. Variations in Jewish wedding ceremonies are broken down into easy to understand chapters. I found the frequently asked questions section particularly helpful. Top notch pictures help to reinforce the accompanying text.

I wish I had this book last year when I shot a big wedding for a jewish couple who are friends of mine. Stan provides a treasure trove of information and advice and he does so in a very readable style. Frankly, books that concentrate on equipment and lighting aren't nearly as important to the success of working photographers as are books like this that carefully prepare you for jobs that might fall outside the type you normally do.His explanations of the customs and rituals of the different segments of the Jewish faith is information you won't get anywhere else. If you are a wedding photographer this book could help you open up a new and very profitable new niche in your business. And the information will allow you to enter the jobs with a social grace borrowed from Stan's decades of practical experience! This book is a "must have" for wedding photographers in all major markets. I also really liked Stan's photographs!

This excellent work can benefit both amateur and professional photographers. Written in a conversational style, the entire book provides enjoyable reading as well as information that you can remember. The book was quite informative about the differences and origins of the different "flavors" of Jewish weddings. It also kept away from too much technical information, which the professional photographer probably already knows, and dealt with the human interactions that are necessary for the reader to become familiar with these types of weddings. The images were amazing - magazine quality - a testament to the qualifications of the author. |
