This is an outstanding instructional video for outdoor photography. It has a wealth of information for both the beginner and experienced photographer. Don Gale, who appears to be an accomplished professional photographer, takes the viewer to various locations throughout the Eastern Sierras and Yosemite. The locations are breathtaking. Although Don's presentation is friendly and easy-going, the instructional content is clear and straightforward. The section on necessary equipment for outdoor photography is particularly good. Don reviews all the all the equipment and accessories used by outdoor photographers and explains in detail how each is used. Another good feature of the video is the "before and after" shots. For example, Don show how the scene looks without a filter and then shows how it appears with the filter. In some cases, the difference is dramatic, and the viewer gains real appreciation of the usefulness of the filter. I have just returned from a trip to the eastern Sierras and was looking forward to the information and tips contained on the DVD.

The info is old, often referring to film issues, not digital.

Some of the locations visited don't show the conditions the Mr. Gale describes. For instance, he talks about getting a reflection in a mirror surface lake while he is standing in front of water that shows no reflection. I get the point, but it would be better, in my opinion, to illustrate your point with what you are speaking about.

My copy was defective as it skipped chapter to chapter and I returned it without asking for a new copy. I just didn't find it that helpful.

Somone else may find it much more useful and interesting.
