These poems are part of an essential and still little known body of war literature-that of the "police action" in Vietnam. People don't talk much about it but here are some crisp sketches from that event/those events to refresh memories or give you new ones. This book has not received the attention it deserves!

hard, personal, important, June 30, 2007
This review is from: Photographs of the Jungle (Paperback)
War cannot be figured out. But it can be experienced and written about. Jon Glade has added his unique voice to the legacy of poetry about the war in Vietnam. Sit down alone by a window and read these poems. Enclose each of them with an open heart. Some are striking. Others everyday and sad. Still others hang out with hidden questions. All are personal and worth experiencing.
Jon Glade is a fine writer.
