Robert Silvers, a young digital artist studying at MIT, came up with the idea for Photomosaics--a process of arranging thousands of tiny photographs into one giant mosaic-style image. Buffalo Games has turned these amazing artworks into puzzles, such as this perfectly square portrait of the American flag that's made up of hundreds of small photos of famous and not-so-famous Americans, places and scenes, and images of Americana. The 529 pieces may not seem like much to a serious puzzler, but because every piece is actually part of two entirely different pictures, the methods you might normally use to identify and build areas of the puzzle won't really help you here. The bigger challenge, however, might be resisting the urge to study in detail every one of the tiny photos--or you'll never see the "bigger picture," literally! I put this puzzle together in one day....one very long day. I then had it framed at a frame shop, and it hangs in my living room, near the front door.
I get lots of comments on it, because when you get close to it, you realize that the flag image is made up of a collage of pictures from various points in U.S. history.

If you have a child, do it with them, and teach them what some of the images are about!

Highly recommended.
