5.0 out of 5 stars
a fun Sci-fi series for anime fans!, June 4, 2010
This review is from: Photon: In Search of Mom (Adventure Novel 3) (Paperback)
Anime fans will love this whole series! (Based on a Japanese live-action adventure TV series brought to the US in the mid-1980's on Saturday mornings)
Bhodi Li, secret identity Christopher Jarvis of Earth, is a member of the multi-race Photon Alliance out to save the universe from the evil Arrians. He's used to being the cocky, hotshot phaser-wielding marksman with a devilish sense of humor, constantly teasing his beautiful Amazon-warrior-type comrade, Tivia (who secret loves him but acts like he's not worth her time). In this book, we learn the staggering truth behind who created the supercomputer, MOM, and go through an awesome emotional rollercoaster amidst a thrilling action-adventure!
(In response to the official review, where someone said this book is "too earnest to be read as satire", I, for one, thoroughly enjoy the corny humor that lightens up the depressing moments. Reminds me of the well-loved series, the "Myth" books by Robert Asprin.)
