Product Description

Photonic Bluetooth Keyboard Tablet Stand Leather Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 N5110 (Black/Brown)

This is a great item to have for any iPad owner. The case has a removeable semi rigid keyboard. The keyboard can easily be connected to an iPad by Bluetooth. The case also has a sturdy stand on the back to help the iPad from falling back when pressing on the screen. Many similar items do not have a sturdy support for the iPad which results in the iPad easily falling down if pressing on the screen. The clasp to keep the case closed does not use a magnet, so it will not interfere with your iPad. The Snap On case has the benefit of not interfering with the iPad's automatic light sensor. We also include a screen protector so that your iPad will be completely protected

Great Unique and Bright Design

The case looks very nice.
Olga
The battery in it holds a charge long enough that I used the machine for hours and had no problems (the Note 8 ran out of power before the keyboard).
Lance
The bluetooth keyboard was easy to set up and works great.

Product was exactly as advertised. The pairing process went smoothly. It is important to charge the device for at least 4 hours before attempting to activate and use. Instructions were clear and helpful. Very pleased with the product, The case itself is better quality than I expected. The magnet shuts off the Samsung Note when closing the cover. Be aware that the Bluetooth keyboard stays on. We now make sure we turn off the keyboard when doing other things on the tablet.

This is a nice case, which fits the Note 8.0 well. When I first put the Note in its place, I thought that the leather surrounding it was cut a little wrong - nothing looked square with the tablet itself. However, I realised that I had set the velcro closure a little off to one side and that was pulling everything out of true. Once I adjusted that, it all looked a lot better. I still think that the tablet sits slightly too low (portrait view) or too far to the right (landscape view) - hence the 4 stars - but it is still (just) protected on its bottom edge. The keyboard works well - it is embedded in the same leather(ette?) that the rest of the case is made from, which was a bit odd to begin with, but works well. The "windows" key takes you directly to the apps drawer. Some of the character positions are a little odd, but it doesn't take long to get used to. The keyboard is held in place with magnets so pops off easily, leaving a "book cover" type of case, although the spine is a little too deep to allow the front cover to fold back comfortably behind the tablet to make a true "book cover." It is still a usable option, though.
My one dislike is the closure flap: Although it holds the case securely closed, it is a fiddle to get it in position, and it gets in the way when the case is open and you are trying to use the keyboard. Another reason for only 4 stars.

Really, really impressed.

For the money I was really expecting junk. Instead, I received a well fitting stylish case.

In addition, the keyboard works great. The battery in it holds a charge long enough that I used the machine for hours and had no problems (the Note 8 ran out of power before the keyboard). Recharging using a USB port on my desktop was fast (30-45 minutes).

I've had only one incident with this device, and I don't blame the device for causing it. Before knowing about the keyboard case, I had downloaded a third party software keyboard called SWYPE (With Dragon Naturally Speaking built in). After connecting the bluetooth keyboard, the SWYPE keyboard, while it is still resident on the tablet, refuses to work when the keyboard case is turned off. It even won't work after it is unpaired. The device reverts back to the still quite usable stock software keyboard. Nothing I've tried so far seems to change that state of affairs.

Update: 10-14-2013

The issue of the SWYPE keyboard refusing to work after hooking up the bluetooth keyboard turned out to be an easy fix. Prior to hooking up the keyboard via bluetooth, I had activated the SWYPE w/Dragon onscreen keyboard days before, but I hadn't made it the default keyboard (which can be done in the Languages and Input section of settings). Once I went back in an made it default, it worked perfectly every time I disconnected the bluetooth keyboard.

One of the main reasons why I bought this tablet was because of the note taking capabilities, with that said:

The first few weeks I absolutely loved this product. Great build quality, and the keyboard is okay. However, I noticed that whenever I took notes there was a dead spot on the screen. I couldn't write there, and if I wrote near that spot, the S pen would go crazy. I tried taking off the case, and it worked like a charm. The dead spot is no longer there. I don't know if the results could have been permanent, but I'm just glad my tablet is fine now.

To keep in mind:
*Messes up your screen by creating a dead spot whether you take off the keyboard or not.
*The keyboard does go crazy a couple of times, but it's okay. It's not that big of a deal for me, I still use it. (The keyboard will sometimes fix on a specific letter like "Sssssssssssssssssss")

As of right now, I'm not using any covers. I'll probably try to take off all the magnets, and use Velcro to hold the keyboard in place (as I said I love the case itself, very nice quality). If that doesn't work then I'll have to buy some other case.

Nice product, can't beat the price. Keyboard works perfect, small for larger hands, but still useable. Case and stand are configured just right for my taste

My title says it all. This product was Dead On Arrival. It was shipped in a plastic bag and I had to pay for the return. I can understand if it were my fault this product wasn't working or if I damaged it, but look at how they ship it, in a plastic bag that's the same type of bag you see sweaters or shirts on shelves in Macy's or Sears. Then when you return the product instructions state for you to return it in a BOX? Lol. Now the GOOD is that the case is built well. It felt sturdy and not bulky to carry on campus. But if I order my steak and garlic whipped mash potatoes and my steak is delivered COLD and potatoes aren't whipped & no garlic, how am I at fault? Your not even given the option to exchange the product. Now the seller should confirm that the product was DOA then offer an exchange and YOUR MONEY BACK FOR SHIPPING.
