Helpful and lots of info,

This review is from: Photopedia: The Ultimate Digital Photography Resource (Paperback)
On the back cover of this book, it is indicated that it covers digital photography from beginner to advanced. Being an intermediate, non-professional photographer, the book seems like a very useful guide in most all areas of digital photography. It covers all the basics including the essentials of digital cameras of various types, accessories, and taking photographs. Also covered is transferring and storing photos, editing, photo techniques, printing and sharing photos.
For the beginner to intermediate digital photographer, the book gives you pretty much all the answers to any questions you may have. For an advanced or professional photographer who has extensive knowledge of cameras and computers, it may have too much extraneous material to be a lot of help. Personally I have found it a very useful book.

I recently picked up Photopedia: The Ultimate Digital Photography Resource along with Scott Kelby's The Digital Photography Book, Volume 2. While this book goes much more in depth than Scott's book does, I find the bulk of the selected images to be not really worthy of the book.
If you are new to digital photography and want to grasp the concepts this book is OK but not great. I suggest you pick up Scott Kelby's books The Digital Photography Book and The Digital Photography Book, Volume 2. They are MUCH easier to read and the supplied images are worthy of print. Pete |
