5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for anyone using Photoshop
I really like this book on disc. Jerry covers a lot of techniques for making your photos, whether astro or terrestrial, their best. He shows excellent techniques for adjusting levels using seperate RGB channels and much more too numerous to list.
This book covers Photoshop 6 & 7, but works just as well with CS or CS2. Hey Jerry, how about an updated version for CS2?

2.0 out of 5 stars Outdated
I was expected a bit more here. It is something of a stale presentation. And it's outdated by at least two years. The technology of imaging has moved on. Who does film photography and scanning anymore? Photoshop 7 is also at least 2-3 years behind. CS2 in now the standard.

May be worh $26 but I'm not so sure. Why hasn't the author updated this?

I was very disappointed with this CD. I am not an experienced astrophotographer,,, the reason I bought the CD in the first place. The CD Book is laid out in a very sterile outline format, that I had to force myself to endure. The flow of information was thick with jargon and acronyms with which I am unfamiliar, and They came so fast I never could get comfortable with them. I would have thought a CD Book would capitalize on this medium to demonstrate the various concepts visually and interactively,,, but there was none of that. I got nothing out of it.

Save your money Folks.

Yes, it is true that Photoshop 7 is no longer the standard, its CS3. But, that said, there is a lot to learn about the basics in this CD. Jerry does a great job of teaching many of the basics of digital photography in general and digital astrophotography in particular. I would love to see an update. Perhaps after recovery from the new DSLR book?

Photoshop for Astrophotographers

This is NOT a book, it is a CD ROM . It is poorly put together, and most of the material is not directed at Astrophotography. We don't need another Photoshop CD! These is some material on correcting images on a Astrophotograph, very little on how to merge multiple images.
