Jim works with both end-users and vendors, including companies, such as the Adobe Systems Inc., Bozek Desktop Inc., the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Crosfield Electronics, Electronics for Imaging, the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, the U.S. Government Printing Office, the National Geographic Society, the National Newspaper Association, R.R. Donnelley & Sons, the Smithsonian Institutions, the U.S. Senate Photographic Services, the Washington Post, various trade shops, service brueaus, newspapers, photography, and design businesses. His responsibilities have included selecting and installing black-and-white and color scanners, page layout systems, preflighting methods, color management systems, hands-on production, research and development, and production management.
Jim enjoys teaching and has developed a variety of training programs that teach the basic through advanced fundamentals of black-and-white and color reproduction methods. His expertise and extensive color experience permits him to teach black-and-white and color image reproduction, calibration techniques, and electronic page layout methods for most any imaging workflow.
He holds a master's degree in printing technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
