5.0 out of 5 stars Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac, February 19, 2009

This review is from: Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac Essential Training (CD-ROM)
As I am a newbie to photoshop elements, I found this tutorial to be outstandingly clear and informative. As the title suggests, it is essential training. It will get you up and running using the program. Since Photoshop Elements has so many features that simply cannot be covered in a single 8 hour video.[...] I look forward to purchasing it when (and if) it becomes available.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing software!, April 12, 2011

I quickly became very disappointed with this product! It may actually be better than all the others, but I wouldn't know. My DVD drive only works intermittently and needs replacement. But I can't afford to replace it right now. The problem is the restrictions placed on the software. What they send you is a copy-protected DVD disk. As a result it is necessary to get whatever training you're going to get by inserting the DVD disk, and getting it from there. It is not possible (according to the folks who created the training disc) to "install" the training onto a hard drive!

I suppose that is O.K. for most users, but my gripe is that these restrictions are not disclosed BEFORE the purchase is made! In fact, I saw nothing on the packaging either, that indicated any type of restrictions. When a potential buyer is attempting to make a determination of whether to buy the training disc or not . . . the restrictions are not listed on the "selling" page, or anywhere else I could discover.

When I made the purchase, I was unaware that my faulty DVD drive would only give me "intermittent" access to the training. I thought this disc would be MINE! Big mistake!

It seems to me that there should be SOME type of disclosure, such as "This is a copy protected disc and the material contained on this disc may not be installed or copied to any computer. It is required that a DVD drive be used each time the training sessions are to be used."

I have not yet made a complaint to Amazon, but it's on my list of things to do.

Buyer beware!
