Amazon.com Review
This book helps you spruce up your Photoshop images using filters--both the program's built-in filters and those available from third-party sources. Using a good combination of screen shots, discussion, and step-by-step instruction, the author helps you create a wide variety of effects. You work through many projects and apply filters as you create paintings, morphed images, 3-D effects, textures, Web backgrounds and buttons, interfaces, frames, text and color effects, and retouched and composite images. For those projects involving third-party filters, the author usually offers alternative methods that involve only Photoshop filters, so you don't have to install new plug-ins if you don't want to. Most of the projects, fortunately, focus on Photoshop's built-in filters and other tools. The companion CD-ROM includes images, as well as demo plug-ins, for working along with the book's projects.
