Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Al and Colin have received loads of positive comments from happy customers who bought the first; Photoshop Most Wanted book, and due to public demand they are back with more totally new effects and design tips. This is NOT a reworking of the old book - it's ALL completely new material. We've also listened to readers comments and one recurring request was to add a CD to the next book - so we have!

Once again, Al Ward and Colin Smith have teamed up to deliver a book on effects and techniques that visitors have been asking for...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, February 5, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Photoshop Most Wanted 2: More Effects and Design Tips (Paperback)
Whilst the book looks great, it's obvious the writer was not in communication with the person who put together the accompanying CD. The files referred to in the book are not in the location described, nor do they have the filename described.
Also, don't expect to get the results shown, even when following the instructions precisely.
For $50 I expect better attention to detail.

1.0 out of 5 stars An Unsatisfactory Mess, May 31, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Photoshop Most Wanted 2: More Effects and Design Tips (Paperback)
A $49.99 incomplete book. The files for this book are somewhere, just not on the CD. So, you must WASTE time trying to find a replacement.
The instructions for the tutorials render a poor version compared to the book's outcome, regardless of how closely you follow instructions. Again, one must WASTE time trying to figure out what you have already paid for.

To conclude, if you have time to WASTE, buy this book. Otherwise, you can get more detailed information/results by internet tutorials & save $49.99.

I started to work with photoshop 6 months ago and felt really stupid because i didn't know how to use photoshop at all. But then i came across this book 'photoshop most wanted 2', it showed me the way how to use photoshop like the pro's do and believe me, this book is also a breathtaker especially 'design project 1' WOW!

Colin and Al, thank you for showing me the way!

P.S. The pictures in the book are sometimes very small to read other than that i did get the results not always how they appear in the book but hey... i am just starting!
