The book part of the duo is no more than a pamphlet, less than 1/4" thick and 6" wide, 63 pages covering 12 pretty simple techniques for creating templates for wedding albums. All are well explained and illustrated. None is breathtakingly original. The dvd part of the duo provides a few more templates, a little bit more complex, well demonstrated. Again, nothing mindblowing. The basic lesson to be learned is work smarter not harder, create templates when you can, and automate as much as possible. Basic requirement is general (not advanced) familiarity with Photoshop.

I had read another review regarding Scott Kelby and decided to check out this seminar. It was fabulous! I've been a photographer for many years and have been looking to expand my Photoshop knowhow and give me an exra edge.
This DVD and book gave me the opportunity to not only use the skills taught here but also to expand them into other areas and ideas.
Highly...highly recommended. And Scott is a ball of fun...my kind of humor, he made it nothing but fun.

I really enjoyed watching this DVD! Scott Kelby is very detailed and shows you ALL of the steps to make each layout and also how to save it as a template that you can reuse. It comes with a booklet they shows different techniques and layout designs than what is on the DVD. It is great for a beginner like me! If you are a pro at Photoshop, you might not like all of the detailed steps, but it was great for me!

This is basically a new concept in hands on training aimed at the end user of a software package. It's a DVD that is not simply a rehash of what's in the book, instead the short handbook and the DVD were designed to be used together. The book can show what the finished image looks like in a permanent setting while the DVD goes on to what is done to produce the image.

Scott Kelby is Editor-in-Chief of Photoshop User magazine and President of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. He knows what he's talking about. He presents this material in seminar fashion that is easy to understand and a very fast way to learn what he's talking about. This is not a style that will appeal to everyone, but it does present the material quickly and neatly.

I bought this package thinking that it would have some really good techniques on retouching wedding photos and when I got it, the book and DVD only covered basic Photoshop techniques that are applied to wedding photos. I would recommend this package to beginners, but for the mid to expert Photoshop users; I recommend passing on this.

The DVD is a bit fuzzy, but the instructions are clear, moves at a good pace, and the trainer is pleasant to listen to. There are twelve lessons, each containing 7 to 12 steps, so they are quick and have both pictures and text. This book got me aquainted with the possibilities of Photoshop and enabled me to start doing my own creative work.

I purchased this to learn how to make reusable templates for photobooks -- not necessarily for wedding photos. I have found the DVD is easy to use -- the visual quality could be better, but it suffices. I found Kelby's instructions clear and concise. I appreciated the use of short-cut keys. I stopped & started the DVD while trying out the techniques and created a library of templates. I use a PC, and unlike "Mac Killer" did not find the difference in the screens between PC and the Mac to be an issue.

Scott Kelby has done it once again! The interactive video along with the guide has taught me great new techniques for photoshop. Although it is aimed at wedding photos, I have used the techniques for special effects on other themes. I love Scotts method of teaching, no nonsense, easy to follow, and the end result is always beautiful!! This combo kit is just like attending a premium seminar. This dvd and guide has become one of my favorites! Lisa Gregory

Excellent DVD/Book combo, easy to understand and easy to follow, excellent price for a wonderful tool.
I highly recomend it.

Save your money and learn Photoshop yourself..this CD is poorly presented. the author stumbles and fumbles and is hard to understand.
