5.0 out of 5 stars Love the extra cushion!
This is a great sticky mat. I had first purchased a thinner mat and found that my knees would get sore because there just wasn't as much cushion as I would like. I didn't want to use a blanket or towel, as I was concerned about slipping out of a pose. This was an excellent solution! The color is great too. I stack the mats as well or roll up the end for certain poses and...

OK, 1 star sounds harsh. It's as though I am saying that there's almost nothing good about this yoga mat... well, let me be more precise. What I want to communicate is: this yoga mat will not last and thus rendering its value very low. I do power yoga. The mat served its basic purpose fine for a few sessions. Then I begin to notice where my feet and hands constantly touch...

5.0 out of 5 stars good purchase, December 12, 2008
This review is from: Agile Fitness® 1/4" thick Phthalate-Free Yoga Mat in Shoulder Carry Mesh Bag (Misc.)
I have had this mat about 2 mos now. I use it for yoga. At first there seemed to be a film on it that made it slippery. My instructor suggested I wash it in vinegar water. I did and it is great now. It is a nice thickness for those bony parts. The carrying bag works well. The green is a nice earthy color.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good deal for the price, March 15, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It is a good deal because you get the mat and the carry bag for what you will have to pay for the just the mat. If you want a nice and practical bag (one that will not require any time and effort to get the mat in) I will recommend buying the mat and the bag separately...be aware that you would have to pay around 15 dollars for the bag. If you are just looking for a simple bag and for a good price this is the perfect package.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hard to get the mat in the bag, November 1, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good mat, but has 2 problems:

1. It is not so easy to get the mat in the bag because sometimes the mat sticks to the bag and it would take a while to get it into the bag.

2. Sometimes the mat becomes slippery and when I am doing yoga, my hands slip after a while on the mat.

Other than these 2 problems, it is a functional and nice looking mat.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy, June 5, 2011

OK, 1 star sounds harsh. It's as though I am saying that there's almost nothing good about this yoga mat... well, let me be more precise. What I want to communicate is: this yoga mat will not last and thus rendering its value very low. I do power yoga. The mat served its basic purpose fine for a few sessions. Then I begin to notice where my feet and hands constantly touch the mat, they started to crumble. Like, little pieces of the mat started to flay off from repeated use. I've had the mat now for a little over a week. I use it once a day. That's some 7 or 8 uses. If you saw my mat, you could easily tell where I do my downward dog -- because you would see the mat crumbling at specific spots and it is showing significant wear. So for this to happen so readily after so short of a time, in my opinion, it's not worth it. If you must try it, get it on sale. Really, if I am noticing this much wear and tear after 1 week... I'd say pass.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Substantial Yoga Mat, November 24, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good purchase because you're getting a really durable 1/4" thick yoga mat and the yoga mat bag. It's much better than the 1/8" mats I've had in the past. I like the mesh bag too because it's airy and see-though and does the job, but the mat stands on its own at this price because if it's durability and thickness.

Others have complained about these kinds of mats being slippery but I've also learned that that is solved after a few uses and a damp cloth of soapy water or vinegar solution. I had no problem there but if it is a problem for you then you should go with the more expensive mats such as this one Agile Eco Yoga Mat, 1/4" thick x 24" x 68" which I also bought. This one doesn't come with a bag but it's lighter weight, still 1/4" thick and doesn't have any of the slippery issues others commented about because it feels like a different material altogether.

I like the color that I bought (green) - it's a nice earthy color and true to the pictures and swatch. The higher-end mat I bought was the Plum color.

Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Slippery, January 28, 2009

I bought this mat to replace my old 1/8" mat because I wanted more cushion, and the mat certainly provides that. However, it's so slippery that so far I've only been able to use it under my old mat. I read on one of the other reviews that you can reduce the slipperiness by washing it with vinegar and water. So far that hasn't worked, but I'm going to keep on trying.

I got the green color, and the actual color of the mat is way different than it looks in the picture. It's a very bright neon green, as opposed to the "earthy" green in the picture.

The carrying bag is good for holding this mat (it's not at all hard to get it in and out), but I was a little disappointed that it wasn't stretchy enough to carry both of my mats rolled together.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Mat, Good Deal!, September 3, 2009

I recently joined an exercise class which requires we bring a mat for stretching and toning. So I scurried to find a decent one at low cost. Most of the mats that sell for this price don't come with a bag, and you need to have something to carry it in, right? The bags I found cost as much as the mat! Granted, this isn't the highest quality bag, since it is basically just thin black mesh, but it works just fine, and much better than carrying a mat into class rolled up and secured with rubber bands, ha!

I bought the agile green, even though someone had mentioned it was neon green. Mine turned out to match the color online pretty well, and not obnoxious at all.

My only complaint was the smell of the mat - a pungent rubbery odor. But I unrolled it and let it air out for a few days and it is now much better.

2.0 out of 5 stars Slippery, January 11, 2009

Thickness and cushioning was nice, but it is an extremely slippery surface. Not appropriate for yoga. I have tried a number of methods to reduce the slickness, but alas, too many downward dogs became collapsed dog after feet gave way. Stay away from this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Such a disappointment..., July 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First I got this mat with these blue dye stains all over it. I contacted the seller and they didn't respond. On top of that, the material doesn't hold up. Where I usually do my downward dogs, the mat crumbles and falls apart.

The ONLY good thing about this whole experience is that it has more cushion than my last yoga mat. And even now... it isn't worth it. If you avidly practice yoga like myself--don't bother with this mat or this seller for that matter.
