Great Veterinarian Stories, January 15, 2011
This review is from: Phyllis, Phallus, Genghis Cohen & Other Creatures I Have Known (Hardcover)
If you're interested in animals, verterinary practice, or the peculiarities of what someone closely associated with animals encounters, this is the book for you. It reflects the Berkeley of its time, when the National Guard moved in and began throwing tear gas around, when there were student riots, when Patty Hearst was kidnapped, and when a host of zany people with sick animals came to have their critters cured.
I have had this book in my "must read" pile for several years, and only now am I getting around to it. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer.
The section on the names of Dr. Frye's animal clients is worth the price of the book alone.
We all want insights into the life and experiences of other people. Isn't that why we read ? Here's a delightful book that provides many.
Pet owners and pet lovers, this book is a "must."
