Occupational therapy is embracing new technology and interventions in an effort to better facilitate occupational performance in clients. Physical agents, including the use of heat, cold, water, electricity, light, and mechanical devices, are being utilized with greater frequency. Superficial thermal agents, cryotherapy, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, phonophoresis, iontophoresis, electrical stimulation, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation are some of the modalities covered in this book.
