More About the Author

Michelle H. Cameron, MD, PT, a neurologist and physical therapist, is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Oregon Health & Science University and at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Cameron provides clinical neurology care to people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and related disorders, and is currently developing her research on balance and falls in this population. She has carried out a number of studies in this area and also contributes to clinical trials of various MS treatments.

When not caring for patients or carrying out research, Dr. Cameron teaches continuing education courses on the use of physical agents in rehabilitation. Her discussions of physical agents bring together current research and practice, in the context of today's health care environment, to provide the decision-making and hands-on tools needed to support optimal patient care.

Dr. Cameron is the author of Physical Agents in Rehabilitation: From Research to Practice, now in its third edition, and is the co-editor, together with Linda G. Monroe, MPT, of both Physical Rehabilitation: Evidence-Based Examination, Evaluation and Intervention, and its companion edition, Physical Rehabilitation for the Physical Therapist Assistant. Her books have been translated into six languages.

Physical Rehabilitation is a well ordered and comprehensive text beneficial to students and practitioners. It would also be of use to patients who want to learn more about treatments they may be undertaking. The book is superbly organized and clearly illustrated.
