Author R. Deborah Williams has written a book that teaches the origin of brokenness and how we are to be healed and made whole in order to be a help to someone else. Starting where it all began, in the Garden of Eden, author Williams deals with the mindset, the temptation and a host of emotions that grew out of the sin caused by Adam and Eve.

Jesus delivered His life for sinful man that we all can be delivered and made whole in Him. By understanding how sin entered and the effects it has on the lives of everyone today, we are admonished in Physicians for Brokenness to turn our lives over to Christ, allowing Him to make us whole.

Williams used the subject of the origin of sin throughout her book, as well as references from other authors and/or theologians that would either support or dispel what is to be ultimately believed. She also shared her experiences to becoming whole in Christ as He prepared her to minister to the needs of others, with hopes of bringing them to Christ and ultimately wholeness.

I found Physicians for Brokenness to be a repetitive read, mainly because of the thrust of the origin of sin being stated over and over again, but thoroughly enjoyed the author's testimony of her road to salvation. However, I still found myself asking questions concerning brokenness even in believers today. Does salvation alone make one whole, or does this process of becoming whole take a lifetime of serving God? As much as I understand that turning any matter over to Christ and allowing Him to work it out and make it right, or whole in this aspect, I still wanted to read something that spoke to the depths of my soul. If a believer finds themselves in a place of brokenness, they already know to go to God, but what else is there? What can you tell me that will help in me allowing God to heal the damage? How does a believer come to the realization that there is damage in need of healing? The Word of God answers all things, but what can you tell me, in laymen's terms (so to speak), that will help me along the way? In other words, after salvation, then what? Perhaps this book is written to unbelievers?

I recommend this book to readers who seek to find detailed information on the origins of sin and the effect of sin.

This book is awesome it lets every day christians know that they are accountable for walking in the power that God has given us and that we are physicians called to heal.

The writer begins by talking about the historical beginnig of mankind--how man and woman was without sin. The temptation by satan in the garden and the fall out of fellowship with God who had a personal relationship with Adam before Adam and Eve's disobedience. The writer--after dealing with the origin of our fallen condition, gives us a remedy--to change by accepting Christ as our personal Savior and example. After being helped and enabled through those who have become physicians for Brokenness, we can help someone else.
